Patent number: 8870119Abstract: A modular seat system for a passenger compartment of a vehicle includes at least one seat, which has a seat unit with a seating element and a seat back and a seat frame with at least one pair of essentially vertical support elements, at whose upper end a bearing structure is arranged on which the seat unit rests, a fixing structure in the floor of the passenger compartment with at least two longitudinal rails, which have a predetermined spacing from one another, for accommodating the lower ends of the support elements, and an adapter plate for the fixing of the support elements, which adapter plate is fitted to the lower end of the support elements, and is fitted in a mobile fashion to at least one support element, so that the spacing of the support elements from one another is variable independently of the width of the seat unit.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 2010Date of Patent: October 28, 2014Assignee: Airbus Operations GmbHInventors: Andreas Baatz, Michael Supan, Frank Klepka

Patent number: 7857259Abstract: A modular seat system for a passenger compartment of a vehicle, in particular an aircraft, with at least one seat which includes a seat unit with a seating element and a seat back, a seat frame with at least one pair of essentially vertical support elements, at whose upper end a bearing structure is arranged on which the seat unit rests, and a fixing structure in the floor of the passenger compartment with at least two longitudinal rails, which have a predetermined spacing from one another, for accommodating the lower ends of the support elements. In order to ensure a cost-effective and flexible fixing of standardized installation modules—in particular passenger seats—with different spacing of the mounting rails, there is provided a spacing device, which defines the spacing between the two support elements at their upper and/or lower end, so that the spacing of the support elements from one another is variable independently of the width of the seat unit.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2006Date of Patent: December 28, 2010Assignee: Airbus Deutschland GmbHInventors: Andreas Baatz, Michael Supan, Franz Klepka

Patent number: 7699263Abstract: In order to be able to provide in-flight emergency medical aid to patients on board more efficiently with minimum space, an aircraft, in one example, includes a seat device providing a first section of a reclining position region and a reclining position device which includes a second section of the reclining position region. In addition to use in aircraft, a reclining device, in one example, includes a seat device providing a first section of a reclining position region and a reclining position device, which provides a second section of the reclining position region, may also be used in other transportation vehicles.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 2007Date of Patent: April 20, 2010Assignee: Airbus Deutschland GmbHInventors: Joerg Cremers, Michael Supan, Klaus-Dieter Kricke

Publication number: 20100001126Abstract: A mounting rail that is designed for mounting installations in an aircraft, with the mounting rail being coated with a coating made of a coating material, wherein the coefficient of friction between the coating material and a material of an element to be mounted is lower than the coefficient of friction between a material from which the non-coated mounting rail is made and a material of an element to be mounted. The coating material may be provided with a conductive additive.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 11, 2008Publication date: January 7, 2010Applicant: AIRBUS OPERATIONS GMBHInventors: Michael Supan, Jens-Peter Homann, Carsten Merhof, Thorsten Draack

Patent number: 7607612Abstract: A passenger seat unit comprises modular designed elements, such as at least one seat, and shield elements in the head and foot region. The shield elements are formed by seat dividers that are arranged opposite each other, which seat dividers comprise laterally arranged limbs of the partition wall. One side of the limbs of the partition wall encloses a wall element and forms a closed longitudinal side. The other side of the limbs of the partition wall forms a second longitudinal side which frames an access opening. The longitudinal sides comprise means for length adjustment. It is particularly advantageous if the passenger seat unit according to the invention makes possible more flexible and more economical use of the existing cabin area in passenger aircraft. Flexible adaptation to various cabin lengths is possible without effort.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2005Date of Patent: October 27, 2009Assignee: Airbus Deutschland GmbHInventors: Andreas Baatz, Michael Supan, Frank Klepka
