  • Patent number: 8587655
Abstract: Some embodiments include incorporating detailed snapshots of targeted areas of interest into a video or digitized recording of an overall scene. In some embodiments, a single fixed high-resolution scene camera or a fixed standard resolution scene camera of analog or IP connected type is used. The scene camera can be co-located with at least one pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera or used in a mode where less than full resolution of the scene camera is used for video but full resolution snapshots of areas are captured by the same camera. The area of interest is selected by the object-tracking feature of an intelligent video system, operated without human intervention, by electronically-implemented identification of the existence of area-specific subjects or targets of interest in the scene image field.

  • Patent number: 8026945
Abstract: The present invention describes systems and methods of incorporating detailed snapshots of targeted areas of interest into a video or digitized recording of the overall scene including metadata to link the snapshots to the time and location in the overall scene from which the snapshot was acquired. A single fixed high-resolution scene camera or a fixed standard resolution scene camera of analog or IP connected type is used, co-located with at least one pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera or by using the same scene camera in a mode where less than full resolution of the scene camera is used for video but snapshots of areas are captured by the same camera where higher resolution thereof is used for snapshots than for video. The area of interest is selected by the object-tracking feature of an intelligent video system, operated without human intervention, by electronically-implemented identification of the existence of area-specific subjects or targets of interest in the scene image field.

  • Patent number: 5689546
Abstract: A system for monitoring the performance of T1 digital transmission lines by incorporating a common unit interconnected to a plurality of network interface units as well as to a spare transmission line leading to a central office. The common unit is configured to interrogate any or all of the network interface units in order to obtain status information such transmission error rates, and to report such status information via the spare transmission line to the central office. By dedicating a common unit to oversee error detection and/or status reporting, communication between the central office and customer premises equipment need no longer be disrupted while transmission performance is being monitored.

  • Patent number: 5509065
Abstract: A telecommunication system is described that has an interface and multiple lines, such as T-1 lines. The multiple lines include at least one service line and at least one spare line. The interface comprises a bus across the service line and spare line and a common controller. The bus includes switches for interconnecting and disconnecting the bus from one or more of the multiple lines. The common controller accomplishes multiple functions: (a) responding to a transfer signal by interconnecting the spare line to the bus and disconnecting the service line from the bus, (b) recognizing a restoration of service signal on the service line upon which service was disconnected, and (c) sending commands to the switches for reconnecting the service line to the bus and disconnecting the spare line from the bus. Further, in one embodiment, the common controller also recognizes a restoration of service signal on the spare line.
