  • Patent number: 9790380
Abstract: Disclosed is an aqueous ink composition including between 1 and 40 weight % of a water dispersible resin, between 0.5 and 15 weight % of a colorant, between 20 and 80 weight % of water and between 1 and 30 weight % of an acetal cosolvent, wherein all amounts are relative to the total ink composition. The ink composition may further include between 15 and 75 weight % of a dispersion stabilizing cosolvent.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 19, 2014
Date of Patent: October 17, 2017
    Assignee: OCE-TECHNOLOGIES B.V.
    Inventors: Michael T. J. Verheggen, Roelof H. Everhardus, Antonius P. M. M. Van Roy
  • Publication number: 20170022377
Abstract: An ink composition includes a dispersion of resin particles in water, a colorant and a co-solvent fraction for stabilizing the dispersion, wherein the co-solvent fraction includes at least one branched polyhydric alcohol and/or at least one (poly)ether modified branched polyhydric alcohol, and between 0.1 and 5 weight % polyvinylpyrrolidone having a weight average molecular weight of at least 5000 g/mol. Such ink compositions show improved robustness on a range of print substrates. In this way robust look and feel films can be realized also on less absorbing media, like the offset coated gloss, silk and matt ones with a better freedom towards recipe variation of e.g. latex and the concentrations of the ingredients.

  • Publication number: 20130288172
Abstract: The invention relates to a toner for developing a toner image, the toner comprising a binder resin, an inorganic component and a wax. The wax is finely dispersed within the toner and has a melting transition, wherein the lower temperature limit of the melting transition is between 110° C. and 140° C. at the time of temperature rise in the DSC curve measured using a differential scanning calorimeter. The invention further relates to a printing system for applying the toner according to the present invention on an image receiving medium. The invention further relates to a method for preparing the toner according to the present invention.
