  • Patent number: 8678064
Abstract: A laminating machine for making sheet laminations using a thermal laminating film is disclosed which protects the film from being mounted in the machine in a manner that will expose its adhesive side to the heated laminating rollers in the machine. The film is stored on upper and lower supply rollers in the machine. Each supply roller is engaged at one end by a forward end of a rotatable piston disposed in a variable-length spring operated chuck. A stem attached to the forward end of the piston extends rearwardly from the forward end and away from the roller into a cylindrically enclosed body portion of the chuck. There the stem is engaged by a one-way needle bearing which permits the film to be unwound from the supply roller only in one direction, thus permitting only the non-adhesive side of the film to contact the machine's heated laminating roller.

  • Patent number: 7874340
Abstract: A laminating machine with upper and lower laminating rollers and upper and lower laminating film supply rollers is disclosed. An upper laminating film extends onto the upper and lower laminating rollers and a lower laminating film also extends onto the laminating rollers. First and second frame members support the laminating rollers and the film supply rollers. A removable tray extending between the first and second frame members adjacent the nip between the laminating rollers carries a film insertion member which is moveable far enough to press the films into the nip. A spring-loaded chuck mounted on one of the frame members and supporting the end of a laminating film supply roller is also disclosed, as is an idler bar mounted in a bracket depending from the tray and engaging the film from the lower laminating film supply roller when the tray is in place.

  • Patent number: 6131619
Abstract: A harness frame for use in weaving machines includes a generally rectangular frame formed by top and bottom slats attached to side members. Heddle rods are carried by the slats wherein heddles are placeable onto or removable from at least one end of the heddle rods. A slide member is disposed on the side member adjacent at least one of the heddle rods. The slide member is movable on the side member between an open position wherein the slide member is displaced from the heddle rod so that the heddles can be slid on or off of the heddle rod, and a closed position wherein the slide member abuts against, the heddle rod and prevents heddles from being slid off of the heddle rod.

  • Patent number: 5975147
Abstract: A heddle frame includes a top rail and a bottom rail connected at their ends with end members to form a rectangular frame. An adjustable center brace assembly extends between the top and bottom rails, and includes an elongated brace extending through the top rail with a bottom end adjustably and lockingly engaged with the bottom rail. The brace may have a multi-sided head at the top thereof configured to be engaged by a conventional driving tool. A locking block is disposed over the multi-sided head and is a removably attached to the top rail. The locking block has a recess defined in the underside thereof with a width corresponding generally to that of the multi-sided head for rotationally locking the head and center brace. The head of the brace has a width so as not to extend beyond the sides of the top rail, and the head can be rotated with a conventional driving device without removal of the heddle frame from the textile machine, or interfering with adjacent heddle frames.

  • Patent number: 5819810
Abstract: A heddle frame has a pair of laterally extending slats and a pair of end braces connected to the slats to form a generally rectangular frame. An elongated opening is defined at least in the ends of the slats, and typically throughout the slat. A locking mechanism is configured to lock the end braces to the slats and typically includes a device housed at least in part within the slats. A corner sleeve member is adhesively fixed on the slats at the ends thereof directly adjacent to the end braces to structurally reinforce the slats at the position of the locking mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5477889
Abstract: A heddle frame endbrace assembly is provided which substantially eliminates bowing and distortion of the endbrace when placed under a pre-tension condition. The endbrace includes an elongated body formed of a first material. The body has a longitudinal channel defined therein along the length of the body. The channel is configured for receipt of a drive bolt therethrough. An insert is fitted into and essentially lines the channel from one end of the body to the other. The insert is formed of a second material having a greater stiffness than the first material. The endbrace has an overall longitudinal balanced moment axis through the channel so as to be essentially coaxial with a longitudinal centerline axis of a drive bolt disposed through the channel, wherein upon tensioning of such a drive bolt, the endbrace is prevented from bowing.

  • Patent number: 4960484
Abstract: There is disclosed herein an attachment for a laminating machine. The attachment permits one-sided lamination by adjustably imparting a reverse curling force to an initially curled laminate. The reverse curling force is imparted by bending and/or stretching the heated and laminated product before the film sets so as to offset the initial curl. This is done by drawing the laminated product over a bar edge and adjusting the draw with an adjustable roller.

  • Patent number: 4619169
Abstract: The cutter mechanism for slitting laminate material interconnecting overlapping borders of adjacent articles includes an elongated body that has a pair of upwardly-extending guide feet on opposite ends along one edge of the body and downwardly-extending guide feet on opposite ends adjacent the other edge with a generally rectangular slot between the respective feet and extending from opposite ends. The slots have bases which extend perpendicular to the opposite edges and thus perpendicular to the path of movement of the cutter means to provide sharp cutting edges between the respective feet.

  • Patent number: 4248388
Abstract: Apparatus for cancelling non-refillable bottles has an unloading section, where the bottles are received and sorted for color, if necesssary. The bottles then proceed to a counting section having a plurality of counting channels containing counters for the passing bottles. After counting, the bottles pass to a crusher section which cancels the bottles by breaking. A second unloading station may be provided at the input of the crusher for bottles which do not need to be counted.
