  • Publication number: 20080179343
Abstract: A vending machine includes a cabinet having a product storage zone and a product delivery mechanism that transports a selected product to a consumer. The vending machine includes a door assembly pivotally mounted relative to the cabinet for selectively providing access to the product storage zone. The door assembly includes an outer, exposed surface and an inner surface that are spaced to define an inner door zone including a vertical drop zone that terminates in a delivery area. A portal is formed in the inner surface of the door assembly and leads from the product storage zone into the door zone. A discharge element is provided on the inner surface of the door assembly and cooperates with the product delivery mechanism to dispense the selected product through the portal as the product delivery mechanism moves past the portal.

  • Patent number: 7152757
Abstract: A coupling for connection of a tube comprises a coupling housing which includes a first end into which the tube is inserted, a clamping ring which is positioned in the coupling housing against a first conical surface, a sealing ring which is positioned in the coupling housing, and a return ring which is positioned in the coupling housing between the clamping ring and a second end of the housing adjacent a second conical surface that is tapered opposite to the first conical surface. The return ring is expandable and comprises a central aperture which is smaller than the external diameter of the tube. Accordingly, when the tube is pushed into the coupling housing and forced through the return ring, the return ring will expand and move along the second conical surface.

  • Patent number: 6871675
Abstract: A compact, countertop water dispenser preferably dispensing ambient, chilled or hot water, and preferably allowing single-hand dispensing of ambient and child water, as well as child-resistant hot water dispensing. In one embodiment, powered by thermoelectrics, a side-mounted water container feeds a first reservoir, which feeds a second reservoir in liquid communication with hot and cold tanks. Predetermined reservoir water levels may be maintained by float switches and solenoid valves may be used to enable/disable water flow from the tanks and dispensing. Many other features are provided as described below.

  • Patent number: 6085936
Abstract: A front loading dispenser for dispensing medication pouches in a roll/strip form. The dispenser preferably includes a top door pivotally hinged to the top of the dispenser and a bottom door pivotally hinged to the bottom of the dispenser. Medication pouches in roll/strip form are inserted into the dispenser, and the top and bottom doors are then closed to define a dispensing channel for dispensing of the medication pouches. One of the doors includes a pouch engaging member which extends into the dispensing channel to engage the roll/strip of medication pouches and prevent them from retracting into the dispenser.

  • Patent number: 5927557
Abstract: A reservoir and faucet assembly for a water cooler includes at least one faucet fitting for removable mounting of a faucet, wherein the faucet fitting has a check valve mounted therein to prevent water spillage when the faucet is removed. The check valve is adapted to be opened when the faucet is installed within the faucet fitting and to close when the faucet is removed from the reservoir. With this design, the faucet can be disassembled from the reservoir, without first requiring drainage of water from the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 5621846
Abstract: A radiant electric heater has a pair of bracket arms rotatably attached to opposite ends of a housing secured to a support bracket attached to a ceiling over a work space. A control switch mounted on one of the bracket arms and a control knob secured to the switch are substantially centered on the housing's axis of rotation. The housing is rotatable relative to the bracket arms throughout an angle of not more than 90 degrees and can be held in any one of several angular positions. The control knob may have a ball chain attached thereto to control operation of the heater from a position remote from the heater. In a modification, heat shields are provided along the upper and lower margins of a reflector assembly to prevent extreme heat build-up on the heater housing.
