In response to movement of the seat back (such as in a crash scenario), the arms may permit release of a constraint of the tray table body that would otherwise inhibit the tray table body from moving with the seat back.

    Abstract: There is provided a seat break over device. The seat break over device features linkage members that connect the seat back to the quadrant arm. In the static condition, the linkage member acts as a rigid member, constraining rotation of the seat back relative to the quadrant arm. Upon impact of a certain inertial force, the linkage member interacts with a weighted member. The weighted member may include a suspended weight or mass that pivots about a horizontal axis. During a gravity load of a certain amount (e.g., a 16 g event), inertial loads act on the weighted member/hammer, which transfers a force onto the linkage member. This force moves the linkage member into an unstable mode, allowing forward rotation of the seat back with respect to the quadrant arm.

    Abstract: Method and apparatus for installing a support member to support a flexible element, such as a shipping comb used to support a flexible suspension assembly of a head-stack assembly (HSA). A robotic end effector configured to insert the support member to bias the flexible element. Prior to said insertion, an inspection assembly verifies at least one physical parameter of the member while the member is supported by the end effector. One or more computerized video images along at least one axis are preferably obtained by the inspection assembly, and machine readable code on the member is preferably decoded from said image(s). The end effector preferably includes a pair of opposing gripper fingers which engage the support member with variable compressive force during insertion. A cleaning assembly preferably cleans the support member prior to insertion, and a subsequent video image is preferably obtained after insertion to verify installation of the member.

    Abstract: An automotive electronic circuit analyzer that plugs into an automobile's electronic control module is disclosed. The disclosed analyzer includes positive and negative load sensing cells each having a series resistor coupled to an ECM load via the ECM connector and having an LED transistor for conducting current when the ratio between the load and the series resistor exceeds a predetermined value. A regulated power circuit for sinking current from the positive load sensing cells and for supplying current to the negative load sensing cells includes a timing circuit for controlling the active power pulse width so that the LEDs are illuminated with high frequency, short duration power pulses to indicate a shorted load.

    Abstract: The present servosystem positions a movable member such as an optical head over a rotating disk with a constant velocity and high positional accuracy by utilizing a fast analog feedback loop that is controlled by a slower digital loop. The analog feedback loop locks the speed of the movable member to the speed of the rotating disk in a spiral recording track. The progress of the movable member is constantly monitored with the digital loop. A velocity error of known magnitude and direction is introduced into the system. When the error exceeds a preset limit an error of the known magnitude but of the opposite direction is introduced. The servosystem thus zig-zags about the desired position with small velocity changes to provide a substantially constant velocity system with high positional accuracy.
