  • Patent number: 9418546
Abstract: A multi-object zonal traffic detection framework analyzes temporal and spatial information from one or more sensors in a classification engine that identifies and differentiates objects within a single identified traffic detection zone. The classification engine applies a whole scene analysis and an adaptive background zone detection model to classify cars, trucks, bicycles, pedestrians, incidents, and other objects within the single identified traffic detection zone and generates counts for each object type for traffic system management.

  • Patent number: 8117703
Abstract: A modular chemical delivery system is designed to be readily convertible from use with a warewashing system to use with a laundry system, or vice-versa, merely by the replacement of one chip in the controller of the system. The dispensing system is also readily expandable by adding additional satellite pumps in order to inject additional chemicals into a single washing unit, and/or to supply chemicals to additional washing units. Plug and play technology is used so that control intelligence can be distributed from the main system controller to satellite controllers, and so that additional satellite units may be readily added, identified, and properly integrated into the dispensing system.

  • Patent number: 6968314
Abstract: A method is described for facilitating implementation of an automated system for transacting business, where the system users are subject to predetermined rules governing business conduct. Each user is assigned a user ID and has a security profile, which lists the transactions that user is authorized to perform. A list is prepared of pairs of incompatible transactions (transactions which, if performed by the same user, would violate the predetermined rules). Each security profile is compared with the list, to identify security profiles including at least one pair of incompatible transactions. A report is then generated indicating those security profiles which include incompatible transactions and the user identifiers associated with those security profiles.

  • Patent number: 6529385
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for connecting a device to an integrated circuit. The apparatus includes an insulating substrate that has two major sides and a number of sites for housing components. Each site has a first node on one of the two sides of the insulating substrate and a second node on the other of the two sides of the insulating substrate. Each site also has components that are aligned normal to the sides of the insulating substrate and are connected to the nodes at the site. Such apparatus are useful as adapters for testing an integrated circuit, such as connecting a test device to the integrated circuit with the adapter and observing and/or driving signals through the adapter.

  • Patent number: 6458357
Abstract: Retro-inverso peptide analogs derived from the active neurotrophic region of saposin C. The saposin C-derived peptides (prosaptides) induce neurite outgrowth in vitro, prevent programmed cell death, induce myelination and have an analgesic effect. They are useful in the treatment of central and peripheral nervous system disorders and pain management. The retro-inverso peptides are significantly more resistant to metabolic degradation than the corresponding non-inverted peptides.

  • Patent number: 4798918
Abstract: A high density flexible circuit for coupling electrical devices. The flexible circuit has signal and ground traces on both sides of the flexible circuit. Each signal trace is surrounded by ground traces. There is a ground trace on either side of each signal trace and two ground traces located below each signal trace. This system of placing ground traces surrounding each signal trace reduces electrical noise between the signal traces and reduces the electrical capacitance of the circuit.

  • Patent number: 4778089
Abstract: A bracket for installation in a vehicle to provide support for hanging clothes. The bracket includes an extensible and retractable rod formed by two telescoping tubes which are circumferentially grooved to hold clothes hangers in place. An adjustable sleeve is fitted on the larger tube and carries both an L-shaped hook element which can be hooked on a grab bar in the vehicle and a U-shaped bail which can be hung on a clothing hook in the vehicle as an alternative way of supporting the clothing rod. The bail can be pivoted to a storage position when not used. An adjustable brace on one end of the rod engages the window frame of the vehicle to stabilize the rod in a horizontal position.
