Abstract: A navigation and control system including one or more position sensors configured to generate position signals indicative of the location and heading of a vehicle. The system includes one or more operation control mechanisms having inputs and producing outputs which control an operation of the vehicle and includes a self-contained autonomous controller disposed remote from the operation control mechanisms. The autonomous controller includes a processor configured to receive the position signals from the position sensors and to generate operation control signals defining an updated travel path for the vehicle, and a programmable interface providing communication among the position sensors, the operation control mechanisms, and the processor.

Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and article of manufacture for using different algorithms to destage different types of data from cache. A first destaging algorithm is used to destage a first type of data to a storage for a first duration. A second destaging algorithm is used to destage a second type of data to the storage for a second duration.

Abstract: One or more cables are attached to the ring-shaped heliostat tracker assembly to control a position of the heliostat mirror on the ring shaped heliostat tracker assembly by winding the one or more cables with a cable winder spool and a cable unwinder spool. The ring-shaped rail track couples to two or more wheels joined to a structure housing a heliostat mirror. One or more position encoders track the heliostat mirror to indicate a position of the heliostat mirror on the ring-shaped rail track.

A first airflow passageway provides combustion air to the first oven cavity and cooling air within the cabinet and a second airflow passageway provides combustion air to the lower cavity. The second airflow passageway is separated from the first airflow passageway.

The twisted pairs are grouped together to define a central core of the cable. An inner filler element is wrapped helically around the twisted pairs of the central core. An outer filler element is wrapped helically around the twisted pairs of the central core. The outer filler element is wrapped over the inner filler element.

Abstract: A dog boot is provided comprising a generally vertical and cylindrical elongated tubular legging portion ending in and connected to a toe-box portion both of which are attached within a generally horizontal non-slide sole portion. The legging portion extends upwardly from the toe-box portion and defines an offset longitudinal slit providing adjacent, opposite, overlapping flap portions that are equipped with loop and hook fastening material allowing for ease of insertion and extraction of the dog's leg and paw. The generally tubular legging portion has two adjustable fastening straps for cinching the legging portion securely at two separate points around the dog's leg. Within the non-slide portion is a removable sole insert shaped to receive the pads of the dog's paw wherein the removable sole insert works as a shock absorber for the dog and adds comfort and stability during wear.

Abstract: A duct adapter system directs air flow relative to a hybrid water heater. The duct adapter system includes a collar adapted to surround a vent of a hybrid water shroud. The collar couples to standard duct pipe to extend ductwork to a heat pump portion of the hybrid water heater. A boost fan may be included in the system for boosting air flow to or from a remote location. The duct adapter system is adapted to deliver a warm air supply to the heat pump from the remote location, or deliver the cool discharge air from the heat pump water heater to a remote location.

Abstract: A vehicle drivetrain can include various structures, such as a multi-ratio transmission, a two-speed final drive assembly connected in series with the multi-ratio transmission and including a low speed final drive ratio and a high speed final drive ratio, a pair of front driveshafts driven by the two-speed final drive assembly, a pair of rear driveshafts, a rear differential assembly connected to the two-speed final drive assembly, and a control assembly including. The control assembly can include a controller in electrical communication with portions of the rear differential assembly, such as a variable displacement pump and purge valve. An input array can be in electrical communication with the controller and can include a plurality of sensors, and at least one switch accessible to an operator of the vehicle. Various related methods can also be executed for control and operation of such a drivetrain.

Abstract: A vehicle anti-rollback system and method can be incorporated into a vehicle that includes a pair of front wheels, a pair of rear wheels, a power unit, and a transmission connecting the power unit to at least one wheel of the front and rear wheels. The transmission can include a plurality of forward drive ratios and at least one reverse drive ratio and a two speed final drive ratio transmission configured to select between a high range drive ratio and a low range drive ratio when the transmission is in one of the plurality of forward drive ratios. A controller can be provided that senses a vehicle rollback condition. When the rollback condition is detected, the controller can decrease torque distributed from the power unit of the vehicle to the at least one wheel, and can actuate a brake. While the vehicle is braked and torque transfer is reduced, the controller can execute drive ratio changeover in a stable manner from the high range drive ratio to the low range drive ratio.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for monitoring water leaks within a home. A home network with various devices monitors these devices with a controller. Information is received from a water flow meter via a transceiver for tracking a total water flow amount through pipelines in the home. By comparing information collected to a predetermined threshold, a leak is determined as present or not within each pipeline. Upon the detection of a leak in the home, a home owner is notified of the condition so that action is taken expeditiously. A shut off valve can be triggered remotely when a request is received from the user, which closes the water pipeline to prevent water damage.

Abstract: A water heater and thermal mixing valve assembly and method for providing a reduced discharge water temperature and a hot water temperature from the same tank. The assembly includes a tank adapted to accept and store an amount of cold water, a heater to heat the cold water held in the tank and increase the cold water temperature to a predetermined hot water temperature, at least one thermal mixing valve integrated with the tank in communication with a hot water passage and a cold water bypass conduit to provide a discharge water of a controlled temperature, the cold water bypass conduit being mounted to the cold water passage allowing the associated cold water to communicate with the tank and the thermal mixing valve.

If a conflict exists, a determination is made as to whether the data from the first document is obsolete in comparison to data from the second document. If the data from the first document is obsolete in comparison to data from the second document, a portion of the first document corresponding to the obsolete data is automatically annotating with the data from the second document to form an annotated first document. A search result list is then provided to the user comprising the second document and the annotated first document.

Abstract: A method and portable electronic device for hands-free operation in a motor vehicle are described. In accordance with one embodiment, there is provided a method comprising: detecting when a portable electronic device is within a threshold distance of a motor vehicle; and inhibiting the portable electronic device from transmitting communications when the portable electronic device is within the threshold distance of a motor vehicle.

The touch screen comprises a button, wherein removal of contact from the button by lifting contact from the touch screen causes a photograph to be taken, and wherein removal of contact from the button by maintaining contact with the touch screen while moving contact to a portion of the touch screen other than the button causes a photograph not to be taken.

Abstract: Approaches to displaying image search results, and image content of computer readable media include providing a matrix display of images, with an interface to insert and remove floating date dividers, each indicative of a day on which one or more of the images was created. Available images can be abstracted according to a respective month in which the images were created, up to a determined maximum number of months, after which images are abstracted according to a year in which they were created. Selecting a month causes display of a matrix of images created during that month, while selecting a year causes display of a list of months. A selected thumbnail can be displayed for each month or year of a displayed list. Search results can grouped according to how each result satisfied the search criteria, such as a separate group for images that had names matching a search criteria, and one or more separate groups for images that satisfied a date range criteria.

Abstract: Embodiments of a system, method, and user interface for searching for messages with attachments on mobile devices are disclosed. In one embodiment, a messaging application is programmed such that, in operation, a user is presented with a search screen in which the user may define search parameters for a search. A search parameter associated with an option to search for messages of a specified type is provided, and more specifically, an option to search for messages (e.g. electronic mail messages) having one or more attachments is made available to the user.

Abstract: Systems, methods and media for implementing logic in the arithmetic/logic unit of a processor are disclosed. More particularly, hardware is disclosed for computing logical operations with minimal hardware by organizing the execution unit such that the propagate and generate functions required for the adder can be used as a basis to implement the bitwise logical instructions. The result of these functions is computed before execution of the instruction by an execution macro in the arithmetic/logic unit.

Abstract: A first mobility management entity associated with a packet-switched wireless access network receives information associated with a mobile station being served by the first mobility management entity, where the information identifies a serving generic access network controller for the mobile station. The serving generic access network controller is used to provide a circuit-switched service to the mobile station while the mobile station is attached to the packet-switched wireless access network. The first mobility management entity initiates a handoff of the mobile station from the packet-switched wireless access network to a circuit-switched wireless access network, where the circuit-switched wireless access network is in a region served by a second generic access network controller different from the serving generic access network controller.
