  • Publication number: 20060181859
Abstract: An automotive control module includes a plastic housing with a snap-fit metal cover. A printed circuit board is positioned within a cavity formed in the housing, and is attached to the housing with a plurality of fasteners. Resilient tabs are formed on side walls of the housing and grip a cover plate surface to define a snap-fit attachment. Once the cover is attached to the plastic housing, the printed circuit board is enclosed within the cavity between the cover and the housing. The cover includes a plurality of heat transfer fins and/or stamped indentations that form surfaces that are positioned in close proximity to the printed circuit board. The cover utilizes these fins and surfaces to form a heat sink for cooling electronics mounted to the printed circuit board.

  • Publication number: 20050135073
Abstract: An electronic assembly includes a housing having an inner compartment that receives an electrical component. The housing includes connector members that secure the electrical component in the inner compartment and provide an electrical connection to the electrical component. The housing includes an opening that corresponds in position to a surface portion of the electrical component. The opening provides access for a repair tool to be inserted though the housing and press on the surface portion of the electrical component for the purpose of removing the electrical component from the connector members. The electronic assembly and repair tool therefore avoid laborious and potentially damaging disassembly methods while providing a simple design that is easily disassembled.

  • Publication number: 20030037828
Abstract: An electro-hydraulic module for a vehicle transmission integrates control circuitry with a transmission valve body into a single unit. The valve body contains channels that route transmission fluid. The module includes electronic circuitry sandwiched between the valve body and a cover, eliminating the need for a separate circuit plate to support the electronic circuitry. Solenoids may also be attached to the valve body for further integration.

  • Publication number: 20020076973
Abstract: The connector system enables forming electrical contact between an electrical component and a support that is formed with a base body on which a flexible printed circuit board is attached. A contact spring is provided on the electrical component. A stop element which is provided above the flexible printed circuit board at a distance from the base body is shaped in such a way that it presses the contact spring against the flexible printed circuit board as it is moved closer to it. However, the build-up of a contact pressure force does not start until the contact zone of the contact spring is already located above the flexible printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 5934354
Abstract: A security shade support assembly for mounting a roller tube having a flexible panel wound thereon within a motor vehicle includes a housing extending axially, an axle extending through the housing, a bearing receiving the axle and cooperating with the housing and attached to the roller tube, and a spring disposed within the housing for biasing the bearing and a groove extending axially along the bearing and the housing to allow the roller tube and shade panel to extend over at least a portion of the housing.
