Publication number: 20210182840Abstract: A system includes a memory and a processor configured to execute computer instructions stored in the memory that when executed cause the system to perform operations. The computer instructions include a blockchain storage component to create a subsequent data block N+1 of a blockchain having N data blocks in response to a storage command, N being a positive integer. An activity token represents at least one previous network action of an entity operating the blockchain storage component. A blockchain processing component generates the storage command based on cryptographic processing of at least one of the N data blocks of the blockchain, the N+1 data block, and the activity token. The activity token is employed by the blockchain processing component to reduce the cryptographic processing of the N+1 data block.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 17, 2019Publication date: June 17, 2021Inventors: Suryatej Gundavelli, Michael Todasco, Lorenz Breu

Patent number: 10497036Abstract: Systems and methods for providing customer shopping help include a system provider device that receives first customer location information from a plurality of beacon devices at a merchant physical location. The first customer location information is collected during a shopping session from a first customer device that is associated with a first customer. The system provider device analyzes the first customer location information to determine a merchant physical location area that is included in the merchant physical location and in which the first customer has not been located during the shopping session. The system provider device then selects a first product, from a plurality of products that are associated with the merchant physical location in a database, which is located in the merchant physical location area. The system provider device then provides a product recommendation for the first product over the network for display on the first customer device.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2015Date of Patent: December 3, 2019Assignee: PAYPAL, INC.Inventor: Michael Todasco

Publication number: 20150154675Abstract: Systems and methods for providing merchant recommendations include receiving sets of shopping session information from beacon devices in a merchant physical location. Each set of shopping session information is collected from a respective customer device during a respective shopping session, and the sets of shopping session information and information about the merchant physical location are analyzed to determine a merchant physical location area in the merchant physical location in which the customers have been located in less often than a plurality of other merchant physical location areas in the merchant physical location. A product or product-related item that is located in the merchant physical location area is selected and a merchant recommendation is provided to move the selected product or product-related item from the merchant physical location are to one of the plurality of other merchant physical location areas.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 11, 2014Publication date: June 4, 2015Inventor: Michael Todasco

Publication number: 20150120504Abstract: There is provided systems and method for completion of item delivery and transactions using a mobile beacon. A mobile beacon may use short range wireless communications, such as Bluetooth Low Energy, and a wireless communication link with a merchant at a main merchant location. Thus, a mobile merchant for a merchant in a remote location, such as a delivery man, delivery drone, or concession salesperson, may bring the mobile beacon during a sale. The mobile beacon may transmit a request to establish a connection with the merchant to a user device, such as a check-in process. The connection may correspond to a payment made to the merchant based on the service being provided. Additionally, the request may be specific to a user and include an alert of the mobile merchant's proximity. In other embodiments, a list of nearby mobile merchants may be presented to the user.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 14, 2014Publication date: April 30, 2015Inventor: Michael Todasco
