Abstract: Systems and methods for operating a communication device. The methods comprise: monitoring, by the processor, states of snap-dome based switches of a keypad provided with the communication device; activating, by the processor, a first timer when the snap-dome based switches are simultaneously activated; detecting, by the processor, when maintenance of the communication device is needed based on a value of the first timer; and causing, by the processor, performance of communication device maintenance based on the detecting, for immersion time and immersion depth fatigue.

Abstract: A wireless cryptographic fill system includes a fill device and a host portion. The fill device is configured to store one or more cryptographic keys and related data in memory therein. The host portion is coupled to a host processor, such as a secure radio configured to perform secure operations utilizing the cryptographic key. The fill device and the host portion are configured to communicate wirelessly with each other. Wireless communications may be accomplished optically, magnetically, inductively, capacitively, via radio frequency, or via bar codes. In one embodiment, the fill device is stylus-shaped, and is inserted into (or positioned proximate) the host portion to achieve wireless communications. In another embodiment, the cryptographic fill device is card shaped, and is inserted (or swiped) into a slot on the host portion to achieve wireless communications.

Abstract: The invention provides improved methods and apparatus for steam sterilization that monitor pressure at one of more points in the steam flow path in order to regulate the flow of cooling water mixed into the discharge or effluent. This permits the indirect, yet accurate and rapid, determination of discharge water temperature so that it can be mixed with just the right amount of cooling water to bring it to the desired temperature, e.g., 140.degree. F. or below.
