Abstract: The present disclosure describes a system and method for updating and managing clinical care pathways for a healthcare institution. The system can create actions and protocols for care providers using a disease-specific database of recommended interventions. Further, the system can address gaps in care and stratify patient populations to project costs of healthcare services to a healthcare institution.

Abstract: A hair measuring assembly capable of being operated by a single hand of a user and including a collection assembly, including a hair retaining and measuring portion movably mounted on a body and selectively disposable between a collecting position and a retaining and measuring position. The single handed manipulation of a hand grip, concurrently disposes a plurality of two grip segments into either an open or a closed orientation, thereby forcing the hair retaining and measuring portion between the collecting and hair retaining and measuring positions. A “single use” cartridge for carrying out the collection, retention and measurement of hair and also hair breakage is presented. The “single use” cartridge includes suitable structure for mounting and operable attachment to the hair measuring assembly by a person, without regard to whether he or she is left-handed or right-handed.

Abstract: A hand-held instrument has a business end and a handle attached to the business end. The handle has a gripping portion and a longitudinal axis. A knob is provided on the gripping portion of the handle to facilitate the wielding of the hand-held instrument. The knob is disposed such that it projects away from the handle in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis of the handle. In a preferred, but not required embodiment, the knob is removably attached to the handle by a quick release attachment device. In a typical, but not required, such embodiment, the quick release attachment device includes a male connection pin disposed within the knob and a female receptor disposed within the hand tool.

Abstract: A fluid dispensing system having a fluid dispenser supporting a barrel containing liquid to be dispensed. The barrel has a slidable piston therein with the liquid on a forward piston side and a chamber on a rear piston side. Positive and negative pressure fluid circuits have components operable to apply respective positive and negative fluid pressures to the rear side of the piston. A pressure transducer is operable to sense a fluid pressure in the chamber; and a dispenser control is operative to store a pressure-time relationship during a first dispensing cycle and thereafter, operate a component in the positive pressure fluid circuit to maintain the pressure-time relationship during a subsequent dispensing cycle.

Abstract: A liquid dispensing valve includes a valve body, a valve seat, and a reciprocating valve member engageable with the valve seat for controlling flow through a liquid outlet. A calibration device includes a rotatable stroke control stop member and a rotatable reference ring. The reference ring and stop member may be initially rotated to a zero position and, subsequently, the stop member may be rotated to set the desired stroke length. One or more fluid fittings are provided and sealed against the valve body using a clamp plate.

Abstract: A hand tool retaining device has an elongate backing element, a base element and an elongate guide element having an elongate slot disposed along the backing element. The guide element is disposed along the backing element such that a hand tool can be disposed against the backing element with the head of the hand tool resting upon the base element, with the handle of the hand tool disposed parallel to and contiguous with the backing element and the with head of the hand tool disposed within the slot. An optional retaining clip can be used to removably retain the tool within the retaining device.

Abstract: A method of dyeing a tufted pile carpet on location. The method comprises the steps of spraying a dye liquor onto the pile of the carpet, spraying a sealer onto the pile of the carpet to fix the dye therein and drying the carpet.
