    Abstract: A method for forming a building information model (BIM) includes: receiving, by a BIM formation system, an input from a user, the input having a building model, an indication of a target component, and a parameter of the target component; selecting, by the BIM formation system, a component model associated with the target component; inputting, by the BIM formation system, the parameter into the component model to form a representative component model associated with the target component; and integrating, by the BIM formation system, the representative component model with the building model to form a component building model. The component model includes at least one of a 3D model of the target component or a 2D image of the target component.
