  • Patent number: 8845264
Abstract: A bed transport and utility dolly comprising two or more supports which removably attach at the head and the foot of an adjustable bed. The dolly provides bed transport in a taller and thinner form and allows easy movement through doorways and safe navigation of hallways. The present art apparatus and method of use utilizes the ability of an adjustable bed to substantially retract the bed support arms or legs whereby the transport and utility dolly retains the weight of the bed and allows rotation of the bed into a taller and thinner form before transport, all without the use of specialty tools or extra dollies. Each support comprises a frame with a pivotally attached swing arm having one or more bed couplers with quick release mechanisms which removably attach to the frame or other structurally supportive portion of the bed.

  • Patent number: 6405393
Abstract: A height and angle adjustable bed having a rolling base which utilizes a unique pivoting base having castors and a unique support arm assist spring mechanism. The pivoting castor base allows movement of the bed in any direction on the plane of the floor when also positioned at any user desired height while also providing a stable and lockable support for the bed. The support arm spring mechanism provides an initial assist force when the bed is in a nearly or fully lowered position and thereby minimizes the force required by the linear actuators used to raise the bed.

  • Patent number: 5894616
Abstract: A foldable pad assembly is provided for use along at least one side of a low height bed or bed frame. The pad assembly includes a pair of elongated edge-to-edge aligned pad sections with the adjacent edges of the pad sections loosely joined together for relative angular displacement between a stored generally coplanar position along the side of the bed and a deployed generally parallel position on the floor adjacent the side of the bed to which the pad assembly is attached. An integral flexible panel has one marginal edge secured relative to the free edge of the inner panel section, and the opposite marginal edge is secured to and extends along the associated one side of the low height bed. The pad assembly further includes straps for encircling the pad sections when in the folded stored position in order to retain the pad sections in the folded position. In the stored position along the bed side, the flexible panel supports the pad sections in a raised position off the floor.
