Patent number: 9915512Abstract: Technologies for analyzing and deactivating an explosive device include electrically connecting an analysis device to a pair of trigger wires of the explosive device, performing a number of electrical measurements, and determining a deactivation action to be performed on the explosive device based on the electrical measurements (e.g., based on the calculated resistance between the trigger wires). In a disclosed embodiment, a primary lead of the analysis device is electrically coupled to a first trigger wire of the explosive device and a pair of secondary leads are each electrically coupled to a second trigger wire of the explosive device. The analysis device measures a voltage between the primary lead and at least one of the secondary leads. The analysis device also measures a current flowing through the secondary leads after a link of trigger wire extending between the leads has been cut or broken.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2015Date of Patent: March 13, 2018Assignee: Special Electronics, Inc.Inventors: Michael W. Patent number: 9714605Abstract: A rotary machine is provided which includes a chamber. The chamber includes an island having an island outer surface. The outer surface is an elongated convex shape. The island includes a crankshaft port. The chamber includes a front-plate attached to a front surface of the island. A concave shaped contour is included, which is biased toward the island outer surface and which rotates with respect to the island. A working volume is defined between an inner surface of the contour and the outer island surface. At least one front-plate engaging bearing is provided, which extends from a front surface of the movable contour and over a guide edge of the front-plate. The front-plate engaging bearing engages the guide edge during a combustion cycle.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 2013Date of Patent: July 25, 2017Assignee: Lumenium LLCInventors: Joseph B. Wooldridge, William R. Anderson, Michael W. Roach

Patent number: 8607762Abstract: An inverse displacement asymmetric rotary engine is provided which includes a chamber. The chamber includes a stationary island having an island outer surface. The outer surface is an elongated convex shape. The island includes a crankshaft port spaced from a center of the island. The chamber includes a front-plate attached to a front surface of the island. A concave shaped movable contour is include, which is biased toward the island outer surface and which revolves about the island. A working volume is defined between an inner surface of the contour and the outer island surface. At least one front-plate engaging bearing is provided, which extends from a front surface of the movable contour and over a guide edge of the front-plate. The front-plate engaging bearing engages the guide edge during a combustion cycle.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2010Date of Patent: December 17, 2013Assignee: Lumenium LLCInventors: Joseph B.
