  • Patent number: 6028769
Abstract: A multiple dwelling or business integrated service unit for a communication system including a hybrid fiber/coax distribution network. The service unit has an enclosure that includes a removable front cover. The enclosure also has a back panel, top and bottom panels, and first and second sides. A plug-in coaxial common electronics module is received in the enclosure's first side. The common electronics module has a structural frame with a cover plate which closes off the first side of the enclosure when the module is plugged in. The unit also has at least one channel card received in the second side of the enclosure. An access panel door removably covers and closes off the second side of the enclosure. The enclosure includes a plurality of radiating fins on its exterior surface for dissipating heat generated in part by the module and the channel unit.

  • Patent number: 5014346
Abstract: A rotatable contactless RF signal coupler, which couples RF signals between an antenna and an RF signal processor in a portable radio, along with an antenna capable of operating in two modes is described herein. Specifically, the signal coupler includes a transformer that is primarily located within the hinge formed by the housing of the radio and a rotatable flip portion. Substantially constant inductive coupling is maintained in the coupler regardless of rotation. The antenna is capable of operating in a narrow band and a wide band mode to afford antenna operation through varied conditions.

  • Patent number: 4912602
Abstract: A housing for miniature electronic equipment is disclosed. A mechanical fastening system is utilized in holding front and rear portions of the housing together without conventional fasteners. The front housing portion has cantiliever beam spring catches which penetrate slots in the rear housing and captivate the rear housing and internal components. The spring catches are fixed in position by supporting rails of a detachable battery.

  • Patent number: 4904549
Abstract: A battery housing with an integral latch and a cantilevered spring finger positive displacement mechanism is disclosed. The slide-on battery is captivated by guide rails on each side of the mating surface of the battery housing. When the battery is properly located, a torsion bar latch locks the battery in place. When the latch is activated by the user to remove the battery, cantilevered spring fingers force the battery housing away from its locked position.
