  • Publication number: 20210233726
Abstract: A ground switch apparatus for grounding a power source having a high voltage and/or current. The ground switch apparatus is a passive mechanical device and marine compatible, and includes components having low moisture absorption properties and corrosion resistant. The ground switch apparatus includes a grounding assembly that engages a connection mechanism to ground the power source that is electronically coupled to the ground switch. The ground switch apparatus can be configured, for example by physically moving components within the ground switch, to provide a grounded or ungrounded/open circuit configuration. To provide ground, a grounding assembly connects smoothly to a connection mechanism, for example using a pin-and-socket connection. The ground switch apparatus includes sealed components, anodized parts, and selected materials to avoid galvanic coupling and achieve marine environment compatibility.

  • Publication number: 20070255471
Abstract: A torque estimator is disclosed for estimating torque on a machine. A computer system may include a torque estimator module located on the machine. The torque estimator module may be configured to receive a plurality of engine parameters, receive a drivetrain component parameter, determine an estimated torque value at the drivetrain component based on the plurality of engine parameters and the drivetrain component parameter. The computer system also may include an analysis module located on the machine. The analysis module may be configured to receive the estimated torque value and the drivetrain component parameter, and update a histogram data structure based on the estimated torque value and the drivetrain component parameter. The analysis module may also be configured to evaluate the histogram data structure in order to determine if excessive torque is being applied to a drivetrain component.

  • Publication number: 20070143585
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for automatically configuring an information management system of a work machine. A configuration method for an information management system includes requesting configuration data associated with one or more control modules. The method also includes receiving the configuration data associated with the one or more control modules in response to the request. The method further includes updating an information management system based on the received configuration data, wherein the update defines one or more operating parameters associated with the information management system.

  • Publication number: 20060021222
Abstract: A ducted fan gas turbine engine aerofoil is made by electron beam welding together at least two metal sheets (10) and (12) and electron beam welding that sub assembly via an end to a root that has been manufactured in a separate operation, and then heating the whole to a temperature that will convert the electron beam welds to diffusion bonds.

  • Patent number: 5837724
Abstract: Darifenacin, and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts, are useful in the treatment of cognitive impairment. The invention also discloses the use of combinations of darifenacin, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, with an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, in the treatment of cognitive impairment.

  • Patent number: 4523902
Abstract: A fluid flow machine has a diaphragm pump which is driven by an electromagnet and is confined in a pressure-resistant capsule together with the electromagnet as well as with the electronic control unit for the electromagnet. The constituents of the capsule are connected to each other so that they form one or more gaps each having a configuration and dimensions such as to prevent the propagation of flames and/or sparks from the interior of the capsule to the surrounding area. This renders it possible to use the machine in an explosive atmosphere, even if the pump is designed to deliver metered quantities of flammable fluids. A gap of the above outlined character is provided between two portions of the capsule where a reciprocable plunger extends toward the diaphragm.

  • Patent number: 4507062
Abstract: A diaphragm pump, particularly for conveying flammable media, has a housing whose interior is divided into a pumping chamber and a second chamber by a deformable diaphragm having a marginal portion which is clamped between two sections of the pump head and being deformable by a cupped member which is biased in one direction by a coil spring and is movable in the other direction by a plunger receiving motion from a motor and being in mere abutment with the bottom wall of the cupped member. The housing defines a first set of gaps which connect the second chamber with the atmosphere and a second set of gaps which connect the atmosphere with the pumping chamber. The dimensions and shapes of the gaps are such that they do not permit the propagation of ignition from the respective chamber to the atmosphere.
