  • Publication number: 20240142708
Abstract: A communication module for a system for transferring data by light beams includes a transmitter for emitting a light beam in which data to be transferred are encoded, and a receiver for receiving a light beam. The transmitter includes a light source, and the receiver includes a light sensor. The transmitter and receiver are disposed offset from each other in a vertical direction. The transmitter emits a light beam in a longitudinal direction. The receiver has a mirror, which can be pivoted about a pivot axis extending in the vertical direction between a folded-out position and a folded-in position. The mirror is disposed such that a light beam incident from the longitudinal direction is deflected toward the light sensor by the mirror in the folded-out position. A system for transferring data by light beams includes at least one first communication module and at least one second communication module.

  • Patent number: 11285754
Abstract: A security inlay having optically recognizable characters for an identity document comprises a first transparent layer and a second transparent layer. A color coating is situated on the first transparent layer. Furthermore, a first UV color coating, which reflects at least UV light at least in a first wavelength range, is situated on the first layer and/or on the color coating. The first and second transparent layers are connected to one another. A first portion of the optically recognizable characters is formed by blackened sections in at least one of the layers. A second portion of the optically recognizable characters is formed by the color coating. A third portion of the optically recognizable characters is formed by the UV color coating. The first and the second portions of the optically recognizable characters reflect visible light. The third portion of the optically recognizable characters reflects UV light.

  • Patent number: 11124009

The first and second transparent layers are connected to one another. A first portion of the optically recognizable characters is formed by blackened sections in at least one of the layers. A second portion of the optically recognizable characters is formed by the color coating. The first and second portions are arranged and configured to reflect visible light. Infrared light is reflected by the first portion of the optical characters. During irradiation with visible light, the security inlay thus shows first graphical information formed jointly by the first portion of the optically recognizable characters and the second portion of the optically recognizable characters. Under irradiation with infrared light, the security inlay shows second graphical information formed by the first portion of the optical characters.

  • Patent number: 8558861
Abstract: A method and a device for recording information within an information surface region in a data carrier, consisting of a carrier layer and a transparent plastic layer, by means of at least one laser beam of a point-like laser source wherein the laser beam is deflected via at least one deflection surface, in particular a mirrored surface before it impinges on the data carrier, wherein the at least one deflection surface is arranged in a region between the laser source and the data carrier and outside an intermediate region bounded by notional straight connection lines between the laser source and edge regions of the information surface region.

  • Publication number: 20110084473
Abstract: An identification document has a substrate and a laminating film bonded to the substrate. The surface of the substrate facing the laminating film bears first text, numeric and/or image data detectable with the naked eye at least when illuminated by daylight and a first zone with a fluorescent substance. Under excitation with light in a specific wavelength range the substance fluoresces in colour in a manner detectable with the naked eye. The laminating film has a second zone which bears second text, numeric and/or image data. The first zone of the surface of the substrate and the second zone of the laminating film overlap one another at least partially.

  • Publication number: 20090294525
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing and processing an image on a card substrate of an identification card, comprising the following steps: printing a colour image onto a surface of the card substrate by means of a printer; optically scanning the surface of the printed image and detecting individual image components of the printed image, which differ from one another in terms of their colour features, by means of an optical detection and evaluation unit; calculating coordinates of boundary lines between the detected image components, which boundary lines represent the contours of the image components, by means of a calculation unit, and heating the card substrate material in lines below the surface of a surface layer of the card substrate along the boundary lines, by moving a laser along the surface plane of the card substrate using the calculated coordinates. An identification card comprising a colour image is shown.
