Publication number: 20250222384Abstract: A filter element has two filter bellows adjoining each other in an interface region between the outflow surface of one of the filter bellows and the inflow surface of the other. A circumferential seal in the interface region connects the filter bellows by material fusion. In transverse direction to the flow direction, one filter bellows has a small extension and the other a large extension larger than the small extension. The filter bellows are arranged such that, along an edge of the filter bellows with large extension, a free space in the interface region of the filter bellows with the large extension is not covered by the filter bellows with the small extension. In the free space region, the seal is connected by material fusion to the filter bellows with the large extension. A filter device with a two-part housing contains such a filter element.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2025Publication date: July 10, 2025Inventors: Matthias STARZER, Joachim-Paul KRIEGER, Johannes GRAD, Thomas VILSMAIER, Michael WANK, Volkmar CHOWANIETZ, Andreas WEBER, Daniel SCHMID

Patent number: 10843649Abstract: A system for providing protection to a track type tractor includes a sweep arrangement having a pair of arms that are supported on a cab of the track type tractor. The pair of arms have first ends that are disposed rearwardly of the cab. The pair of arms also extend forward of an engine compartment of the track type tractor and have second ends that are coupled with a housing of the engine compartment. The system also includes a cross-brace having a pair of clamps and a bar. The clamps are releasably fastened onto the pair of arms of the sweep arrangement and located at an anterior region of the track type tractor. The bar has a pair of ends that are releasably fastened to proximal ends of the pair of clamps.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2018Date of Patent: November 24, 2020Assignee: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: Kevin Andrew Sheets, Eric Michael Wank, Fernando Carrillo

Patent number: 10020634Abstract: A Schottky diode is monolithically integrated into the core of an infrared semiconductor laser (e.g., a quantum cascade laser) to create a heterodyned infrared transceiver. The internal mode field of the infrared semiconductor laser couples to an embedded Schottky diode and can mix the infrared fields to generate a response at the difference frequency.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2014Date of Patent: July 10, 2018Assignee: National Technology & Engineering Solutions of Sandia, LLCInventors: Michael Wanke, Christopher Nordquist, Mark Lee

Patent number: 9806362Abstract: A humidification device is provided with at least one stacked unit with water vapor-permeable membranes arranged parallel and spaced apart relative to each other. The membranes each have an edge area framed by frames. The frames are formed by a film composite of a lower film and an upper film, wherein the lower and upper films of the film composite clamp the edge area of one or more of the membranes therebetween. The lower and upper films of the film composite are fixedly connected to each other. Alternatively, the frames are formed by a thermoplastic yarn that is sewn into the edge area of one or more of the membranes, respectively, wherein the thermoplastic yarn is reshaped by heat and pressure.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2015Date of Patent: October 31, 2017Assignee: MANN+HUMMEL GmbHInventors: Michael Fasold, Marcel Mayer, Michael Maier, Michael Wank, Heinz Dobusch

Patent number: 9594266Abstract: A photonic apparatus includes a metamaterial resonator array overlying and electromagnetically coupled to a vertically stacked plurality of quantum wells defined in a semiconductor body. An arrangement of electrical contact layers is provided for facilitating the application of a bias voltage across the quantum well stack. Those portions of the semiconductor body that lie between the electrical contact layers are conformed to provide an electrically conductive path between the contact layers and through the quantum well stack.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2014Date of Patent: March 14, 2017Assignee: Sandia CorporationInventors: Igal Brener, Michael Wanke, Alexander Benz
