  • Patent number: 9556570
Abstract: A device for picking up animal waste is described that use a waste bag. The pick-up device includes a first concave body and a second concave body that form a waste collection cavity. A hinge along a fixed edge allows a movable edge to move between an open position and a closed position. A spring biases the device into the closed position. An activation mechanism is provided to overcome the biasing force of the spring. Waste bag retainers retainer the waste bag within the waste collection cavity.

  • Publication number: 20060021885
Abstract: The invention relates in general to an apparatus for holding a media storage disk. The apparatus comprises a body portion, a central unitary cylindrical hub with a circumference slightly less then the central aperture of the disk, at least one retention finger possessing a retention lip integrated in the outer circumference of the hub, at least one support arm bounding the retention finger to raise the storage media disk away from the disk receiving portion, and at least one ejection arm extending radially from the hub and downward toward the disk receiving portion. When the hub is depressed at least 0.5 mm the retention finger which naturally extends outward from the hub to engage the media storage disk cantilevers inward releasing the disk and the ejection arms are simultaneously pivoted upward to eject the disk in a spring-like manner from the apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20050269223
Abstract: The invention relates in general to an apparatus for holding a media storage disk, more particularly an apparatus having an improved central retaining area for the retention of the media storage disk, along with an optional securing means for engaging the media storage disk around its outside circumference. The disk-receiving portion contains a body portion which includes a circular outer retaining wall whose radius is slightly larger than media storage disk. The body portion also incorporates a central retaining area comprising a cylindrical hub, at least one arm extending radially and downward from the hub toward the body portion, and at least one additional arm opposite the first arm creating a hinge between the hub and body portion. Additionally the body portion may incorporate a means to secure the outer diameter of the media storage disk.

  • Patent number: 6318459
Abstract: An anchoring device for anchoring an oil well tubing string within an oil well casing. The device generally comprises a drive mandrel and an anchor mandrel. The drive mandrel has an upper end and a lower end, with the upper end releasably securable to an oil well tubing string. The anchor mandrel has an upper end that is releasably securable to the drive mandrel. The anchor mandrel is selectively engagable and disengagable with the interior surface of an oil well casing through the use of a plurality of rotatable slips. The slips have a gripping surface to contact and adhere to the interior surface of the oil well casing such that when the anchor mandrel is rotated in a first direction the slips are rotatably deployed to an engaged position with the gripping surfaces in contact with the interior surface of the oil well casing.

  • Patent number: 6289986
Abstract: A pump rod drive and torque release mechanism for use in association with a downhole pump positioned within a well. The pump rod drive and torque release mechanism comprises a central housing having a generally hollow interior, a drive shaft received within the central housing, a drive rod received within the central housing, and a torque transfer mechanism positioned within the central housing. The drive shaft may be operatively connected to a pump rod rotator to impart rotational movement to the drive shaft. The drive rod may be operatively connected to a downhole pump so as to enable transference of rotational energy from the drive rod to the downhole pump. The torque transfer mechanism has an engaged position wherein it operatively connects the drive shaft to the drive rod such that rotation of the drive shaft causes rotation of the drive rod. The torque transfer mechanism also has a disengaged position wherein it operatively disconnects the drive shaft from the drive rod.
