  • Patent number: 6951990
Abstract: A motorized racking operator for racking a circuit breaker into and out of electrical switchgear is disclosed. The racking operator includes a motor, an On-Off control in signal communication with the motor, an anti-rotation bracket securely attached to the motor, and a latch. The motor has a drive shaft with an end configured to operably engage with a receiving end of a racking shaft. The latch serves to removably secure the motor and bracket to the circuit breaker such that the motor and bracket move in unison with the circuit breaker in response to the motor driving the racking shaft to rack the circuit breaker into and out of the switchgear. The anti-rotation surface of the bracket engages with a surface of the circuit breaker to prevent rotation of the motor in response to the motor applying a torque to the racking shaft.

  • Patent number: 6934147
Abstract: A bus assembly for switchgear includes a pair of elongated members each of an L-shaped cross section with a lateral side and a transverse side integral with the lateral side. The elongated members are positioned in a juxtaposed spaced apart relationship forming a hollow rectangular tube wherein the lateral sides are generally parallel to each other and the transverse sides are generally parallel to each other. Support members connected to the lateral sides may be U-shaped components engaging lateral exterior sides of the elongated members and may be connected to an element having flange which extends from the bases of the U-shaped components for connection to a horizontal bus bar. A connecting device may be provided with separated extending legs adapted for attachment to components of a laminated horizontal bus member.

  • Patent number: 6230577
Abstract: Shift control assembly for a power transmission device includes an electric drive motor and gear train having an output which is coupled to and bi-directionally rotates a shift rail. The shift rail includes a pair of spaced-apart cam followers. Freely rotatably receiving the shift rail and disposed thereon between the cam followers is a shift fork assembly. The shift fork assembly includes a body having a pair of spaced-apart helical cam surfaces engaged by the cam followers and a fork engaging a shift clutch collar. As the shift rail rotates bi-directionally, the shift fork assembly and clutch collar bi-directionally translate. A circular plate is disposed for rotation with the shift rail and includes an array of apertures. A plurality of sensors are disposed in adjacent, sensing relationship to the circular plate.
