    Abstract: A fitness device tor exercising by creating opposing muscle resistance instead of employing weights, gravity, or elastic bands, contains a flexible, substantially inelastic strap and a plurality of handles positioned on the substantially inelastic strap. Each handle contains a first grip portion, a second grip portion, and an internal rail. Each handle has a non-movable configuration in which the first and second grip portion are engaged with each other to prevent sliding movement of the handle along the length of the substantially inelastic strap. Each handle has a movable configuration in which the first and second grip portion are disengaged to allow sliding movement of the handle along the length of the substantially inelastic strap. In the non-movable configuration, the handle envelops the substantially inelastic strap and the internal rail to frictionally engage the substantially inelastic strap against the internal rail to hold the handle in the non-movable position.
