  • Publication number: 20100294191
Abstract: A method, system and device for facilitating the retrieval of a marine anchor from an underwater obstruction, the device being configured to actuate when subjected to a force load of a predetermined peak force threshold to effect a change in the point of retrieval that an anchor rode makes with the anchor. The obstructed anchor may be retrieved from another direction, such as a direction opposite from which the anchor was set.
    Type: Application
    Filed: April 6, 2010
    Publication date: November 25, 2010
Inventors: Peter Michael Weinstein, David C. Everson
  • Publication number: 20100189747
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and compositions for treating and/or preventing HIV infection in a subject in need thereof. It features the use of poxviruses, such as vaccinia virus, for therapy, prophylaxis, and diagnosis of HIV, as well as for any other medical or veterinary use associated with HIV or homologous viruses. The invention also provides for the use of poxviruses in the discovery of new agents to prevent and/or treat HIV infection.

  • Publication number: 20070052565
Abstract: An improved clocked data converter with a vibrating microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) resonator. The MEMS resonator is used as part of the clock circuitry of an analog to digital converter or a digital to analog converter. The MEMS resonator may be used as the frequency determining element of an on-chip oscillator, or as a bandpass filter used to clean up an external clock signal.

  • Publication number: 20060174177
Abstract: A mixed-signal integrated circuit testing device includes test electronics for generating a test signal for input to a device under test and receiving a response signal from the device under test, and an interface connected between the test electronics and the device under test. The interface includes at least one Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) filter for filtering an analog signal associated with one of the test signal and the response signal.

  • Patent number: 6971513
Abstract: A packaging system for a door knob assembly is disclosed which includes a clear or translucent extruded tubular member for encasing a door knob, lever, deadbolt or other door hardware or accessory. A pair of end caps are disposed at opposite ends of the tubular member for defining a packaging volume therein. The particular door hardware contained within the packaging system may be supported on an insert which further provides a storage volume within the packaging system for additional components of the lockset. Retaining flanges extend from the end caps for releasably securing the packaged door hardware within the packaging system.

  • Publication number: 20050024628
Abstract: Systems for, and method of, determining propagation characteristics of a photonic structure having a transverse N-fold symmetry. In one embodiment, a system includes: (1) a numerical analyzer that employs a leading order of a systematic homogenization expansion having multiple scales to develop an angularly averaged indexed profile for the photonic structure and (2) a leading order corrector, associated with the numerical analyzer, that further employs the homogenization expansion to refine an imaginary part of an effective index of refraction of the photonic structure.
