Patent number: 7228527Abstract: The invention provides a method and system for structuring a procedure for execution in a computer processing environment. The method includes, for example, the step of providing reply-handling logic within the procedure to control execution of the procedure according to a phase parameter. The phase parameter identifies one of a plurality of sub-procedures. The method also includes, for example, the step of identifying within the procedure a call to an external function. A break point is inserted within the procedure at the point of the external function call thereby defining a sub-procedure. The method further includes the step of inserting logic to update the phase parameter.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2003Date of Patent: June 5, 2007Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Robert Andrew Phillips, Harold Michael Wenzel

Patent number: 6375165Abstract: A moveable gate for infants or dogs is used in doorways, hallways, stair landings and other household positions to provide a safe barrier for the child or dog. The gate, formed of a flexible material which pulls out of a housing in the manner of a window shade, has a jamb mounting at the housing end and a latch at the extended end of the curtain-like barrier. Both are releasable from a fixture which attaches to the door jamb, wall or stair rail post, so that the infant gate can be quickly released and moved to another location in the house where additional such jamb mountings are attached or to another house which has similar door jamb pieces installed. Important features are the manner in which the gate latches, a mechanism for tightening the curtain-like barrier into a nearly solid gate after it has been latched, and childproof devices for releasing tension in the gate when it is to be retracted.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2000Date of Patent: April 23, 2002Inventors: Richard Sherratt, Michael Wenzel, Robert Zajdel

Patent number: 5660718Abstract: A suitably conditioned slurry feed is introduced to a trough from which it is distributed into a slurry layer-flow forming chamber provided with a discharge weir which discharges an evenly spread layer of slurry onto an inclined plate feeding into a mixing passage and then into a vessel. Recirculated slurry from the vessel is also fed into the mixing passage via a recycle gate which forms it into a layer of slurry. An array of clean liquid jets accelerates thin gas envelopes and impinges between layers of slurry and causes intensive mixing of all streams in the mixing passage. A high shear rate produces high intensity turbulence and shears gas into very small bubbles. A multiphase mixture flow is discharged from the mixing passage into the vessel, where it flows past one or more longitudinal stabilizing baffles. Gas bubbles loaded with hydrophobic particles disengage from the stream, rise toward the liquid surface and are diverted by bubble-diverting guides toward a froth discharge end of the vessel.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 1995Date of Patent: August 26, 1997Assignee: M.D. Research Company Pty, Ltd.Inventors: Michael Wenzel Chudacek, Stephen Henry Marshall, Charles Harold Warman

Patent number: 4419029Abstract: A threaded fastener having a self tool movable from an operable position to an out-of-the-way position which includes a threaded shaft, a laterally expanded head having a cavity beneath it surrounding the shaft, holes in either side of the expanded head, a D-ring having its opposite ends in the holes through the sides of the head, and an elastomeric ring such as an O-ring surrounding the threaded shaft and extending partly into the cavity so that when the threaded fastener is screwed into a threaded opening to receive it the O-ring is forced into the cavity when the fastener is tightened providing enough friction to hold the D-ring in its out-of-the-way position. If the object being held with the threaded fastener has a circular cavity having a diameter greater than the diameter of the D-ring, the D-ring, in its out-of-the-way position, will also lie in that recess where it will not interfere with the use of the object being held with the threaded fastener.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 1982Date of Patent: December 6, 1983Inventor: Michael Wenzel

Patent number: 4350241Abstract: A mobile bulk goods delivery system is provided for spacing and evening out the delivery of quantities of bulk goods received so that subsequent operations in a production line are not jammed with intermittent overload quantities of bulk goods to be processed. The delivery system of the disclosure is an equalizer mounted on a mobile support for pivoting around a horizontal axis. The equalizer includes a delivery belt system which has positioned on one end thereof a bulk goods receiving container pivotally mounted, again on a horizontal axis. The equalizer is capable of being moved from one location to another, as desired. The configuration of the container with respect to the support is such that the container, when in its operative position, is recessed below ground level, and when being moved from one location to another, is maintained above ground level.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 1980Date of Patent: September 21, 1982Assignee: Mannesmann Demag, A.G.Inventor: Jurgen-Michael Wenzel
