  • Publication number: 20190369747
Abstract: Systems and methods use a mobile device to position an annotation of displayed content on a shared display coupled with a host device. Sensor data, such as gyroscope and accelerometer data, from the mobile device may be transmitted to the host device and used to generate the annotation. The sensor data may be preprocessed to smooth and fit the data to a parametric curve or shape prior to or after display on the shared display. The user of the mobile device may interact with the mobile device to further start and stop the annotation, as well as denote to animate the annotation.

  • Publication number: 20190369657
Abstract: The subject technology provides for removing a source of delay in a phase-locked loop (PLL) by causing the output rising edge to occur at the same time as the input rising edge. The subject technology replicates the amount of delay experienced along an input reference signal path to the PLL as close as possible using a same circuit configuration and bias circuits as in the input reference signal path. For example, a timing alignment circuit containing a replica circuit adds compensation delay to a negative feedback loop signal to match the feedback loop delay with the reference path delay. The delay of the reference signal path is estimated and added into the replica circuit. The delay characteristics of these two paths negate one another such that the phases of the input reference signal and the feedback loop signal become phase-locked at the input to the PLL.

  • Patent number: 10495718
Abstract: Head-mounted augmented reality (AR) devices can track pose of a wearer's head to provide a three-dimensional virtual representation of objects in the wearer's environment. An electromagnetic (EM) tracking system can track head or body pose. A handheld user input device can include an EM emitter that generates an EM field, and the head-mounted AR device can include an EM sensor that senses the EM field. EM information from the sensor can be analyzed to determine location and/or orientation of the sensor and thereby the wearer's pose. The EM emitter and sensor may utilize time division multiplexing (TDM) or dynamic frequency tuning to operate at multiple frequencies. Voltage gain control may be implemented in the transmitter, rather than the sensor, allowing smaller and lighter weight sensor designs. The EM sensor can implement noise cancellation to reduce the level of EM interference generated by nearby audio speakers.

  • Patent number: 10496239
Abstract: A three-dimensional model can be presented in a two-dimensional digital canvas on a computer display. User input directed at the three-dimensional model in the two-dimensional canvas can be received. The three-dimensional model can be manipulated in response to the user input. A two-dimensional view of the three-dimensional model can be displayed. Corresponding data structures for the model, the canvas, and the two-dimensional objects in the data structure can be maintained and updated. One or more additional techniques can also be utilized in a computer system, such as continuous user-controlled model rotation in a two-dimensional canvas; viewport autofit and non-autofit modes; rotating the model around a camera look-at point; ghosting outside the viewport; normalizing modeling units and values; preset buttons with on-button previews; user-defined view presets; and/or two-dimensional image substitution.

  • Patent number: 10496837
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for supporting sharing the same table for protected and non-protected data columns. Different data object can be defined on the same database table. A discriminate flag can be defined to identify the data object to which a particular row belongs. The discriminate flag can be built into the data object so that rows belong to the data object are picked up during a query. Data protection can then be configured at the data object level so that rows that belong to the data object are subject to protection such as encryption or tokenization.

  • Patent number: 10495786
Abstract: Solar irradiance, the energy from the Sun's electromagnetic radiation, has a wide range of applications from meteorology to agronomy to solar power. Solar irradiance is primarily determined by a location's spatial relationship with the Sun and the atmospheric conditions that impact the transmission of the radiation. The spatial relationship between the Sun and a location on Earth is determined by established astronomical formulas. The impact of atmospheric conditions may be estimated via proxy using pixels from satellite imagery. While satellite-based irradiance estimation has proven effective, availability of the input data can be limited and the resolution is often incapable of capturing local weather phenomena. Brief qualitative descriptions of general atmospheric conditions are widely available from internet weather services at higher granularity than satellite imagery.

  • Publication number: 20190362145
Abstract: A method includes obtaining a set of image segment identigens for each image segment of an image to produce sets of image segment identigens. The sets of image segment identigens are possible interpretations of an image segment. The method further includes generating a set of relationships between image segments. The relationships provide a list of one or more ways in which the image segments are related. The method further includes processing different permutations of the sets of image segment identigens in accordance with the set of relationships to generate an entigen group. The entigen group represents a most likely interpretation of the image.

  • Patent number: 10488000
Abstract: A thin profile surface mount LED lighting apparatus includes a housing, an LED board including multiple uniformly distributed LEDs, and a lens. The lens has a back side facing the LED board and a front side that provides a downward facing surface when the LED lighting apparatus is installed in an opening of a ceiling. The lens is disposed with respect to the LED board such that the LEDs illuminate the back side of the lens. A first spacing of the LEDs causes resulting light from the downward facing surface of the lens to be substantially uniform during operation of the apparatus. In one example, a thin front edge of a sidewall of the housing, forming a perimeter around the lens, is flush with the lens and is appreciably thin (e.g., a thickness of less than three millimeters), and a depth of the sidewall housing is less than one inch.

  • Patent number: 10490302
Abstract: The system and method utilizes a computer system having processors that receive quantitative data from users and generate data to facilitate prioritization and reduction of barriers that prevent patients from receiving medical therapies from a particular healthcare provider in rank order. The processors provide an initial rank order of potential barriers based on calculated correlation coefficient, and determine a subsequent rank order of potential barriers based on the calculated correlation coefficient and other data indicative of the effect of each barrier on the patients. The system and method provides for a systematic, data-driven, and validated process to improve patient access to healthcare providers.
