  • Patent number: 5602373
Abstract: A differential pressure switch particularly suitable for monitoring dirt accumulation on a filter element of an oil-separating air filter comprising a piston which is movable in response to a relative change in pressure between two pressure zones and is biased in one direction by a restoring spring, and a rolling membrane which separates the pressure zones.

  • Patent number: 5492551
Abstract: The present invention is an air filter assembly which includes a frame having a filter mounted therein. The filter is constructed of woven microfilament strands having a cross-sectional height of at most 30 microns, the strands being spaced apart by at most 20 microns. The filter medium is single-ply so as to be non-entraining. Each strand preferably has a smooth outer surface for repelling particles smaller than the size of the openings in the filter. The frame may laterally adjustable, if desired. In an alternative embodiment, the filter includes a single-ply sheet of a filtering material having openings cut therein. The filtering material preferably has a smooth outer surface facing the air-flow for preventing the particles from clogging the filter. The openings may be made in the filtering material by processes such as laser cutting, x-ray lithography, chemical etching, or by stretching a microporous sheet.

  • Patent number: 5292432
Abstract: A fluid filter has a housing which consists of a top housing half 10 and a bottom housing half 11. Between these two housing halves a filter element is disposed. On the bottom housing half is an inlet for the raw fluid, and on the top housing half is an outlet for the clean fluid. The two housing halves are assembled with snap fasteners.

  • Patent number: 5229137
Abstract: Pharmaceutical medications and methods are disclosed for providing instant and sustained relief from pain or symptoms associated with episodic heartburn in humans. The medications consist essentially of antacids and histamine H.sub.2 -receptor antagonists, and may be administered on an as-needed basis in liquid or solid dosage forms. Typical antacids which may be used in combination with the histamine H.sub.2 -receptor antagonist are conventional antacids which are well known and widely used in the treatment of excess acid related gastrointestinal dysfunctions. Exemplary of typical antacids include, sodium bicarbonate, calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide, as well as commercially available high potency, flavored antacids. Histamine H.sub.2 -receptor antagonists which may be used in combination include those conventionally used in the treatment of peptic ulcers, such as, for example, cimetidine, ranitidine, famotidine and nizatidine.

  • Patent number: 5016257
Abstract: Receivers for bandspread signals have a carrier PLL (20) for the carrier frequency and phase and a code PLL (20, 30 . . . 34) for the code frequency and phase. To be able to receive even very noisy signals, the carrier PLL, in particular, must have a very narrow bandwidth. This results in a very narrow capture range.According to the invention, instead of employing a complicated search strategy, advantage is taken of the fact that the code PLL locks in more easily. A signal is taken from the code PLL which indicates the difference between the desired value and the actual value of the code frequency. This signal is fed as an additional control signal to the carrier PLL.
