  • Patent number: 8103363
Abstract: A device control system includes a general device component, a feature definition set, and a specific device component. The feature definition set is operatively connected to the general device component. The specific device component is operatively connected to the general device component. The general device component defines an application program interface (API) for accessing a device. The feature definition set defines features associated with the device. The specific device component supports the features.

  • Patent number: 8040664
Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and methodology for integrating directly within an electricity meter components corresponding to a high current switch. Line and load terminals forming a portion of the high current switch also correspond to line and load terminals configured for insertion into an electricity meter socket. Plural pairs of spring elements are connected at one end thereof to the meter load terminal while the opposite ends of the spring elements carry contacts configured to cooperate with matching contacts on a conductive support. The conductive support is coupled to the line terminal by a further conductive bar that is configured to support a flux-concentrating core for measurement of current flow through the high current switch. The present subject matter has to do with integrating a service disconnect switch directly into the base of a meter so as to provide a dual functionality component.

  • Publication number: 20050045351
Abstract: A Z-bar loader linkage having a floating bell crank. A boom is pivotally mounted to a loader frame at one end and an attachment at the other end. The bell crank is pivotally mounted on leveling links extending forwardly from the loader frame. The drive end of the bell crank is provided with an attachment link that extends from the bell crank to the attachment for controlling the angular position of the attachment. A guide link extends between the attachment link and the boom.

  • Patent number: 6698126
Abstract: A firearm safety bullet that locks into place rendering the gun inoperable. When fired the propellant forces a ram into an internal captive plastic sleeve. The shaft of the ram which has a tapered end, pushes its way through the center of a captive plastic sleeve expanding it with a pneumatic force causing the plastic sleeve to be pushed hard against the inside of the firearm and locking the shell inside the firing chamber. This will do several things all at one time, it will lock the shell inside the gun rendering it unusable, it will prevent a live shell from being introduced and it will stop anyone from using the firearm that is not aware that a safety bullet has been placed in the gun. It will save lives and prevent injury from accidental shootings.

  • Patent number: 5917106
Abstract: A gob of molten glass from a gob delivery system is introduced into a blank mold of a glass container forming machine of the individual section type by way loading funnel immediately upstream of an opening into the blank mold. The loading funnel has an upper annular gathering portion in the shape of an inverted frustum of a cone and a cylindrical lower shaping and orienting section. The internal diameter of the shaping and orienting section is somewhat less than the outer diameter of a gob passing therethrough, to thereby contact the gob in a substantially circumferential pattern, and the shaping and orienting section has a length that is sufficient to precisely align the longitudinal central axis of the gob with a longitudinal central axis of the blank mold, to thereby eliminate or substantially eliminate the need to swab the interior of the blank mold with a mold dopant composition.
