  • Publication number: 20230333710
Abstract: Orthodontic aligners can be used to help shape a patient's teeth, jaw, and gums. Aligners are designed to move teeth into a desired position. Prior to the treatment, a dental professional will prepare a treatment plan (e.g., a set of aligners, etc.) Each aligner in the set may perform a different action on different subsets of teeth. Many dental professionals use animation software to show the patient an animation/video of the changes that are going to occur to the patient's teeth/jaw over time as a result of the treatment plan. While the animation may visually depict how the teeth and mouth are going to change, it does not tell the patient what is being performed (i.e., the actions that are being taken to move the teeth). As a result, the patient often has a significant number of questions because they are not properly educated on the treatment.

  • Patent number: 11496366
Abstract: Provided are systems and methods for detecting whether an electronic gift violates compliance of the sender or the recipient. The system may rely on company-specific compliance rules. In addition, the system may enrich or compensate for missing company-specific rules with general industry compliance rules. In one example, the method may include identifying a domain name of a message associated with a transfer of value from a sender to a recipient, detecting one or more requirements that are associated with the domain name identified from the message, determining that the transfer of value is a possible violation of a requirement from among the one or more requirements that are associated with the domain name based on content of the requirement, and displaying information about the requirement.

  • Publication number: 20220218438
Abstract: Provided herein is a system for creating a 3D animation file of a patient's dental treatment plan. The system may provide a model of a perfect or final state of teeth after treatment. The system may capture changes to the model which result in a patient's current state of the teeth. The system may then generate an animation, in reverse, which morphs the current state of the patient's teeth into the final state. The example embodiments provide an animation file which can be provided to the patient via telemedicine rather than an in-person visit.

  • Patent number: 9173654
Abstract: Systems for tissue repair are described where an elongate tissue repair device may be introduced into a single incision to access the damaged tissue. A suture delivery assembly may be sized for insertion through a single incision and positioned into proximity with a damaged or ruptured tissue region. A first portion of the damaged tissue region may be positioned within or along a channel defined along the suture delivery assembly and one or more lengths of suture may be secured to the first portion via the device. A second portion of the damaged tissue region may be similarly positioned within or along the channel and one or more additional lengths of suture may be secured to the second portion via the device. The first and second portions may then be approximated and secured to one another via the sutures to facilitate healing of the damaged tissue region.

  • Patent number: 8892692
Abstract: A consumer-to-consumer lending system and method for digital content such as digital ebooks. The lending system invention enables a user who has purchased digital content to lend that content to another user. The lending system enables a lender to extend a lending offer to a lendee and a lendee to respond to the lending offer. A lendee may accept or reject a lending offer. Upon acceptance, the lending system provides the lent content to the lendee who controls the content until returning it, purchasing it or until a predetermined lending period expires. During the lending period the lender does not have access to the lent digital content item. The lending system assists a lender with initiating a lending offer, such as providing a pre-populated email form, and delivers the lend offer notification to the target lendee. Lending offers may be initiated and notifications received over common channels, including email systems, mobile devices, and web-based user accounts.
