  • Publication number: 20050205580
Abstract: An underground storage tank system includes an underground storage tank having an attached collar, a reverse flange collar adapter with a lower portion sized to mate with the attached collar and an upper portion having an inwardly projecting adapter flange sized and configured to mate with a corresponding, inwardly projecting riser flange. The adaptor permits the use of dissimilar material in the top and adapter. In some embodiments, the adapter and riser flanges have a plurality of holes formed therein, the holes being sized to accept bolts for securing the riser flange to the adapter flange. Another system includes a tank with an attached collar having an inwardly projecting flange that mates with an inwardly projecting flange on a riser.

  • Publication number: 20050201830
Abstract: A double walled riser sump has an annular space between the two walls. The provision of the annular space provides for monitoring the integrity of the two walls of the sump. The two walls of the sump are preferably separated by a thin film or a distance fabric that allows the passage of fluids, and preferably liquids. The annular space may be in fluid communication with a reservoir holding a monitoring fluid and positioned near the top of the sump to be easily accessible. In some embodiments, a top of the riser sump is also double walled and the top annular space is in fluid communication with the annular space between the vertical walls. If a leak develops in either wall of the sump, a corresponding drop in the fluid level of the reservoir will occur.

  • Patent number: 6558535
Abstract: A water-tight fiberglass septic tank is strong enough to withstand live loads. The fiberglass septic tank is preferably designed with integral ribs to for structural strength. In one preferred embodiment, the tank is made in two unequal halves. The lower half comprises the major portion of the tank and includes a bottom, two endwalls and two sidewalls. The upper half comprises a cover. This arrangement allows the horizontal seam to be placed above the internal waterline, thereby protecting the seam from exposure to sewage. At least one of the endwalls includes a raised top portion that allows a pipe to be located near the top of the lower portion without passing through the seam between the upper and lower portions of the tank. The endwalls are also curved to allow for angled inlet and outlet pipe connections. The ribs are preferably internal and hollow. The lower portion of the tank is also preferably flat bottomed. A provision has been made for a self-locating baffle if required.
