    Abstract: An orientation illumination for motor vehicles is provided which, for illuminating a center console, is integrated in an area of a vehicle ceiling. Correspondingly mounted shields are located and shaped such that the vehicle occupants can have no direct viewing contact with the light source, whereby the light source is blocked for the vehicle occupants without blinding them.
