  • Patent number: 9466148
Abstract: According to some embodiments, information about dynamic adjustments being made to a video feed may be received from an instrumented video camera, the video feed including a representation of a display monitor. An image to be displayed on the display monitor represented in the video feed may also be received. The image to be displayed on the display monitor may then be automatically adjusted based on the information received about dynamic adjustments to the video feed. The adjusted image may then be output to the display monitor.

  • Patent number: 8375311
Abstract: There is presented a system for determining a placement of a virtual object in a performance space according to a performance by a real-time performer. The disclosed system comprises a projection module including a polarizing filter, the projection module configured to generate a polarized visible image corresponding to the virtual object. The system includes a surface for displaying the polarized visible image to the real-time performer. The system also includes a detection module for detecting inputs to the surface, wherein the inputs are provided by the real-time performer based on a location of the polarized visible image on the surface. The system further comprises a mapping module configured for mapping a location of each input to the surface to a corresponding point in the performance space, for the placement of the virtual object in the performance space according to the locations of inputs to the surface by the real-time performer.

  • Patent number: 8291328
Abstract: There is presented a system for recording a performance by a real-time performer interacting with a virtual object. The disclosed system comprises a projection module including a polarizing filter, the projection module configured to generate a polarized visible image corresponding to the virtual object. The system includes a surface for displaying the polarized visible image, the surface viewable by the real-time performer. The system also includes a recording module including a reverse-polarizing filter, the reverse-polarizing filter configured to reverse-polarize images of the performance by the real-time performer and the surface displaying the polarized visible image to produce reverse-polarized images. The recording module is configured to record the reverse-polarized images. In one embodiment, the system further comprises a rendering module configured to render the virtual object into the recorded performance.

  • Publication number: 20090153550
Abstract: There is provided a virtual object rendering system comprising a camera, at least one sensor for sensing perspective data corresponding to a camera perspective, a communication interface configured to send the perspective data to a virtual object rendering computer, and the virtual object rendering computer having one or more virtual objects, the virtual object rendering computer configured to determine the camera perspective from the perspective data, and to perform the virtual object rendering by redrawing the one or more virtual objects to align the one or more virtual objects with the camera perspective. The virtual object rendering computer may be further configured to produce a merged image of the one or more redrawn virtual objects and a camera image received from the camera.
