  • Publication number: 20180043572
Abstract: A manufacturing line includes a tape of green material that is directed through a furnace so that the furnace burns off organic binder material and then partially sinters the tape without the use of a setter board. Sintered articles resulting from the manufacturing line may be thin with relatively large surface areas; and, while substantially unpolished, have few sintering-induced surface defects. Tension may be applied to the partially sintered tape as it passes through a second furnace on the manufacturing line to shape resulting sintered articles.

  • Publication number: 20100293419
Abstract: The present principles provide new tools (i.e., applications) for use in authoring Blu-Ray Discs and other media which, when used in conjunction with BD-Jive Player, the author can provide any required additional information using a user interface (UI) that does not require XML or Java coding. The user interface (UI) allows the author to express the information more generally (i.e., without having knowledge of Java coding or XML) and then the authoring tools produces the relevant XML file and Java code, as needed.

  • Patent number: 7738390
Abstract: A method of reporting quality metrics for packet switched streaming in a wireless network between a server and a client, comprising the step of transporting content data to the server to the client using a real time streaming protocol, the step of reporting at least one quality metric relating to the delivered data stream from the client to the server using both an unreliable transport mechanism, such as UDP, and at least one reliable transport mechanism, such as TCP.

  • Patent number: 7641229
Abstract: An occupant classification system is provided based upon the use of an array of electrical switches arranged between a seat trim and a reactive surface. The switches produce selective outputs signals as an engaging surface makes contact with one or more of the switches when an occupant occupies the seat. The output signals are interpreted into a control signal to distinguish between occupants for controlling an inflatable restraint system. The occupant classification system also includes a control structure which defines a distance between the array of switches and the engaging surface that is greater than zero when the seat is unoccupied so that the switches are insensitive to the initial forces applied to the seat through the seat trim. The distance between one or more of the switches and the engaging surface decreases to zero when the occupant occupies the seat to produce the selective output signals.

  • Patent number: 7453805
Abstract: A method of exchanging signalling information for optimising a rate control scheme in a mobile network, wherein data packets are transmitted over the network from a sender to a receiver employing the rate control scheme with a sending rate which can be adapted using feedback information from the receiver, comprising the step of exchanging PDP context information between the receiver and the network, signalling PDP context information to the sender; and adapting the sending rate using the signal PDP context information. The invention further relates to a corresponding communication system as well as to a sender and a receiver for use therein.
