Patent number: 10724433Abstract: A supercharger for a motor vehicle engine may include a bearing device for mounting a shaft in a hub of a bearing housing. The bearing device may be configured to mount the shaft between a turbine wheel and a compressor wheel of the shaft via a bearing bush that may be floatingly mounted to the shaft within the hub in a closely delimited manner relative to the hub and the shaft. The bearing bush may be securely positioned by a pin that engages into the bearing bush radially from the hub. The pin may include a first part rotatably mounted in the bearing housing and a second part engaging in a recess of the bearing bush. An axis of the first part and an axis of the second part may run parallel to one another. Patent number: 10184355Abstract: A supercharging device includes a rotor mounted in a housing via an axial bearing disposed on an end side of the rotor. The axial bearing includes an axial bearing disc with a first bearing surface, a membrane with a central first opening, and a screw connection that secures the axial bearing disc to the membrane through the central first opening. The axial bearing further includes a bush with a central second opening, wherein the bush is connected to the housing and the membrane is clamped in between the bush and the housing, and an adjusting screw screwed into the central second opening of the bush, wherein the adjusting screw delimits and facilitates an axial movement of the screw connection and thus of the axial bearing disc.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 2017Date of Patent: January 22, 2019Assignee: Bosch Mahle Turbo Systems GmbH & Co. KGInventor: Michal Klusacek

Patent number: 10077779Abstract: A rotor for a supercharging device may include a compressor wheel and a turbine wheel. A sealing disc may be arranged between the compressor wheel and the turbine wheel. The sealing disc may include a first side interfacing with the compressor wheel and a second side interfacing with the turbine wheel. The compressor wheel and the turbine wheel may each define one of a holding contour and a counter-holding contour, which respectively interact with a corresponding one of a holding contour and a counter-holding contour defined on each of the first side and the second side of the sealing disc. The respective holding contour may correspond to the respective counter-holding contour, which may engage in one another and secure the compressor wheel, the sealing disc and the turbine wheel to one another.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2015Date of Patent: September 18, 2018Assignee: Bosch Mahle Turbo Systems GmbH & Co. Patent number: 9970309Abstract: A method of producing a rotor of a charging apparatus may include the steps of providing at least one compressor wheel and a turbine wheel. The compressor wheel and the turbine wheel may each include a bearing section having a radial bearing surface at a longitudinal end for mounting a bearing housing. At least one of the radial bearing surfaces may include a radial oversizing corresponding to a rotationally asymmetric geometry between at least the bearing section of the compressor wheel and the bearing section of the turbine wheel. The method may include the step of assembling the compressor wheel, the turbine wheel and each bearing section together to form a unitary structure, and machining the at least one of the radial bearing surfaces to reduce the respective radial oversizing until each of the radial bearing surfaces are rotationally symmetrical with respect to each other.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2015Date of Patent: May 15, 2018Assignee: Bosch Mahle Turbo Systems GmbH & Co. Publication number: 20180051744Abstract: A bearing device of an exhaust gas turbocharger may include a bearing bush for mounting a shaft in a bearing housing. A pin may engage radially from a hub of the bearing housing into the bearing bush to provide a position securing device of the bearing bush at least against rotational movement. The pin and the bearing bush may be mounted on one another via at least one curved bearing surface, for example a spherical bearing surface and/or a convex bearing surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 15, 2017Publication date: February 22, 2018Inventors: Volkhard Ammon, Ruediger Kleinschmidt, Michal Klusacek, Oliver Kuhne, Steffen Schmitt, Frieder Stetter

Patent number: 9581169Abstract: A gas-dynamic air bearing for radially mounting a shaft may include a plurality of bearing segments arranged in a recess of a housing. The bearing segments may radially enclose the shaft. Each bearing segment may be held with play on the housing via a respective bolt arranged radially to a predetermined bearing axis. Each bearing segment may include an associated stop spring device supported between the housing and the bearing segments. The respective stop spring device may be resilient to stroke movements of the bearing segment effective radially outwardly relative to the bearing axis. The respective bolts may be adjustably screwed to the housing. The bolts may have an end on a segment side that delimits a spring travel of the stop spring device radially inwardly towards the bearing axis and may position the respective bearing segment.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2014Date of Patent: February 28, 2017Assignee: Bosch Mahle Turbo Systems GmbH & Co.
