  • Patent number: 10503867
Abstract: Described are techniques for generating and modifying one or more diagrams based on one or more reports, and modifying the report(s) based on modifications to the diagram(s). The diagrams may include labels, graphical features, annotations, measurements, or other characteristics determined from the report. Visible indicia representing the characteristics may be automatically populated in the diagram, or certain characteristics may be displayed based on user input or preselected report content. Portions of the report may be mapped to regions of the diagram such that a user modification to a region of the diagram may result in a modification to a corresponding portion of the report, and a user modification to a portion of the report may result in a modification to a corresponding region of the diagram. Diagrams may include customized tools or operations for interacting with the diagram based on the structures depicted in the diagram.

  • Patent number: 10192031
Abstract: Described are techniques for extracting information from DICOM structured reports by applying criteria to the reports to locate values at particular nodes and extract the values into a data structure. One or more rules may be applied to determine additional values based on the extracted values. One or more of the extracted values or additional values may be queried, indexed, aggregated, and stored for searching, access, report generation, and so forth.

  • Publication number: 20120259661
Abstract: Systems and methods for extracting information from DICOM structured reports and similar types of input files include receiving at least one DICOM structured report and at least one criterion, applying the one or more criteria to each DICOM structured report to obtain result data, and generating a result for storage or display. Result information can further be queried for indexing and aggregation purposes, and the query results can be stored for searching, access, and report generation.

  • Patent number: 8200505
Abstract: Methods for implementing a structured clinical reporting system employing a DICOM Structured Reporting (SR) software database engine that maps clinical report data into a clinical structured reporting data format are disclosed. A workstation is used to create, sign, render, or transmit a structured clinical report. A conversion engine performs image recognition on the structured clinical report, which includes identifying data therein, segmenting the report, using a library to perform value object extraction on the segments, and converting the value objects to a DICOM format. A PACS server is usable to communicate with the conversion engine, workstation, and database. Various software plug-ins are usable, such that different methods of acquiring user input may be implemented.

  • Publication number: 20080109250
Abstract: The assembly and communications of a generic reporting engine for offering clinical structured reports using the Internet in an encrypted manner is provided. This method of rendering structured reports employs a DICOM Structured Reporting (SR) software database engine that maps clinical report data into a clinical structured reporting data format using a Report Editor Plug-in which is responsible for constructing the report editor GUI, for parsing the DICOM SR report to show it in the Report Editor window and to store the report content created in the GUI to the DICOM SR format. The report engine can be configured with any number of software plug-ins, so totally different ways of acquiring user input may be implemented. The current invention implements the software plug-ins using a tree-like GUI.
