Abstract: A computer system includes a processor, a display, one or more input devices allowing a user to input commands into the computer system and a browser which allows the user of the system to browse remote web pages. The computer system is programmed to use the browser to visit a website in response to one or more user commands entered into at least one of the user input devices. Multiple strings are extracted from the visited web page. The probability that the visited web page is one of a predetermined set of types of web pages is determined as a function of whether the strings correspond to a stored list of strings. If the probability is greater than a threshold, an indication is provided on the display that an online loan may be available to the user of the computer system.
