    Abstract: On leaving a dry pressing or ironing machine, each piece of linen or washing is folded on a folding arm performing a reciprocating movement. The folding arm then bears on an entrance end of a conveyor (28), which is then driven (F2), so as to move the folded piece of linen towards a recovery tank. A freewheel mechanism (52) is simultaneously brought into a disengaged state, which has the effect of lowering a pressing roller (40) and rotating the latter by means of a belt (62). Driving the conveyor (28) in the reverse direction (F3) then brings the pressing roller (40) into the raised position, by means of the freewheel (52), a crank (54) and a rod (56).

    Abstract: With a view to saving water consumed in a washing machine (10), the water used during the last two rinsing operations is recovered in a recovery tank (20) so that it may be used during the next washing cycle for the purpose of carrying out the prewash and washing operations and the first rinsing operation. The water is transported to the tank (20) by a filling pipe (22) fitted with a pump (30). The water recovered in the tank (20) is used by opening, in a given order, solenoid valves (32, 34, 36) placed in extraction pipes (24, 26, 28) entering the tank (20) at given locations.

    Abstract: Use is made in a drying and ironing machine having a rotary cylinder (10) of a pipe burner (18), which comprises a dense network of microperforations. Microflames mainly form in the microperforations and ensure a heating mainly in the infrared range. It is thus possible to orient the microflames towards that part of the cylinder (10) which is in contact with the linen or laundry. By placing the pipe burner (18) in the bottom of the cylinder and a combustion product recovery pipe in the top, there is a sweep (F2) of a part of the cylinder by the combustion products. Therefore the performance characteristics of the machine are improved and its manufacturing costs are reduced.

    Abstract: The outside convex surface of the bent plate forming the trough of a rotating cylinder type ironing machine is carved with two grooves which run parallel to its bending axis and divide the trough into three equal curved sectors. Each of these grooves providing, by reduction of the thickness of the said plate, an axis of less resistance of the latter to bending, such that the adjustable supports of the trough against the outer lining wrapping the rotating cylinder of the machine by the slight bending of the trough occurring along each of the said grooves, regardless of the temperature and the expansion of the trough.

    Abstract: A machine for inserting and taking up long and flat textile pieces into and from a drying and ironing machine comprises an oscillating outfit provided with a longitudinal beam, a slide fixed to this beam, two rolling pieces rolling in opposite directions and maintained in the slide, and two movable and symmetrically shaped carriages. Each of these carriages comprises a U-shaped rigid frame with opposed cheeks. One carriage bears a gripper for the prehension of the textile piece, and one of the two carriages is provided with an operating handle which bears a block which comes into friction contact against the edge of the longitudinal beam in order to maintain the front edge of the textile piece longitudinally tensioned.
