  • Publication number: 20070095697
Abstract: A carton includes a dispenser that dispenses articles such as cylindrical beverage cans through an elongated opening defined by a detachable portion of the carton. The detachable portion extends across the majority of the length of a front wall of the carton from a bottom edge of the carton toward the top edge of the carton. The elongated opening has a narrower tapered portion through which the ends of certain articles in upper tiers are partially exposed such that the user can gauge the quantity of articles remaining in the carton, and a wider portion through which the ends of certain articles in the lowermost tier are fully exposed for removal from the carton.

  • Publication number: 20060157545
Abstract: A carton for returnable containers includes at least a top wall panel, a base wall panel and a pair of side wall panels connecting together the top and base wall panels to form a tubular structure in which a plurality of containers are accommodated. One of the wall panels is formed with a tear-away strip the removal of which separates that panel into two detached portions and which allows the carton to be separated entirely from its contents. The carton further includes detached portion-reconnecting means that includes a hinged flap and a locking aperture. The hinged flap is partially detachable from the one wall panel adjacent one edge of the tear-away strip and foldable into overlapping relationship with the one wall panel adjacent an opposite edge of the tear-away strip.

  • Patent number: 7073665
Abstract: A carton for dispensing articles having a dispensing feature is adapted for restraining articles within the carton until the consumer desires to remove the endmost articles from the carton. To erect the carton, a plurality of panels are connected together to define an end of the carton. A first detachable portion at the end of the carton may be detached from the carton to define an opening for dispensing articles from an upper or lower row of articles within the carton. A second detachable portion at the end of the carton borders the first detachable portion and may also be detached from the carton to enlarge the opening in an alternative embodiment. The second detachable portion restrains articles in an upper row of articles prior to detaching the second detachable portion from the erected carton.
