  • Patent number: 6467783
Abstract: A motor vehicle fitted with a system for controlling the camber (&thgr;) of the wheels of the vehicle on a bend, including, for each wheel of at least one front axle and/or rear axle of the vehicle, a suspension having a pair of suspension upper and lower arms, articulated at their outboard ends to a hub carrier and attached at their inboard ends to the body of the vehicle. The lower and upper arms of each pair are articulated at their respective inboard ends to a pivot transfer lever which is, in turn, mounted on the body by an articulation, the axis of rotation of which is contained in a longitudinal and vertical plane of the vehicle, the pivot transfer lever being capable of pivoting in such a way as to incline the wheels on the appropriate side.

  • Patent number: 6435491
Abstract: A process for stabilizing the mechanical operating characteristics of an elastomeric flexible joint which acts as a spring in a vehicle suspension device by subjecting the joint, before it is put into service, to a deformation corresponding substantially to the maximum deformation intended in service.

  • Patent number: 6176502
Abstract: A torsion axle for a vehicle, said axle having two arms and a cross member having a transverse axis parallel to the transverse direction, the cross member having a free edge at each of its lateral ends, the arms being connected to each of the ends of the cross member, each of said arms being designed to be attached to the body by a joint on the body, so as to define for each arm an axis coupling the arm on the body, the joint allowing a disalignment of the axes of coupling in relation to each other, each of the arms being designed to support a wheel, the cross member providing a torsion axis on which the arms swing in relation to each other, and the cross member being connected to each of the arms at each of its lateral ends by at least three ball joints, allowing a free twisting of the free edges of the cross member relative to the arms.

  • Patent number: 6074016
Abstract: An axle comprises having a crossmember coupling two arms, each arm carrying a stub axle for receiving a wheel, the crossmember being formed essentiy by two coaxial half-crossmembers partially inserted into each other. Resilient rings non-slidingly integral with each of the half-crossmembers and axially spaced from each other ensure the relative torsional stress transmission between the half-crossmembers. The crossmember is not aligned with the pivot axis of the arms on the body.
