  • Publication number: 20070224387
Abstract: A fastening arrangement comprises a fastening element provided with a fastening portion having a planar outer side surface, and a hot-melt adhesive that can be melted in order to fasten the fastening element to a substrate. The fastening element is provided with a receiving recess that is open in the direction of the planar outer side surface. A retaining structure is provided in the region of the receiving recess. The hot melt adhesive is configured as a compact whose shape is adapted to the retaining structure such that the compact can be connected to the fastening element. The fastening arrangement can thus be prefabricated without incipient melting of the hot-melt adhesive.

  • Patent number: 7067032
Abstract: A tubular coupling element for producing a glued joint with a fluid line and a method for producing such a glued joint. The coupling element includes an inner tube that is insertable into a fluid line and an outer tube that is constructed concentric to the inner tube and integrally connected to the rear end of the inner tube by a connecting wall. An annular gap is present between the two tubes and is designed to receive an end section of the fluid line and a hot-melt type adhesive in a compacted solid form shaped as a ring. A connection between the coupling element and the fluid lines can be easily established by first introducing the adhesive in the annular gap and then melting it by rapidly supplying heat while the end section of the fluid line is pressed into the annular gap of the coupling element.

  • Patent number: 6939421
Abstract: The present invention is used for setting and bonding fasteners to support surfaces. The fasteners are provided with connecting surfaces which are coated with a dry hot-melt-type adhesive on the bare side thereof. The adhesive can be reactivated by means of heat treatment. The setting device includes a housing (1) having a receiving component (2) that is displaceably guided therein and is used for the fastener (3) as well as means for quickly heating the hot-melt-type adhesive, lowering the receiving component (2) and pressing the adherent (25) after the adhesive has been melt on. Heating is carried out by means of hot air (H) which is supplied passing the housing (1) and in that the receiving component (2) is surrounded by a closed wall (7) that extends from the hot air discharge location in the housing (1) to the fastener (3). The hot air (H) can thus be conveyed to the adhering hot-melt-type adhesive before or while the fastener (3) rests on the support surface (25).

  • Patent number: 6803111
Abstract: A glazing is provided comprising a glass sheet with a rigid member bonded to it by adhesive which is provided on at least two discrete areas of the member or glass sheet. The adhesive may be a structural adhesive, pre-applied in tablet form, and activated by heat. The use of multiple discrete areas of adhesive allows differential thermal expansion to be accommodated. The glazing may be for a vehicle window, and the rigid member may be a plate, especially a mounting plate for ancillary equipment.

  • Publication number: 20030010441
Abstract: The present invention is used for placing and sticking holding elements to support surfaces. The holding elements are provided with connecting surfaces which are coated with a dry hot-melt-type adhesive on the bare side thereof. Said adhesive can be reactivated by means of heat treatment. The inventive device consists of a housing (1) having a receiving component (2) that is displaceably guided therein and is used for the holding element (3) as well as means for quickly heating the hot-melt-type adhesive, lowering the receiving component (2) and pressing the adherent (25) after the adhesive has been melt on. • Patent number: 6471530
Abstract: A plug-and-socket connection for water-cooled, current-bearing lines, in particular, to bipolar, high-frequency current conductors for the induction heating of tools is provided. The plug-and-socket connection allows both the electric circuit for the power supply and the circuit for the cooling water to be rapidly and easily closed by hand, or to be interrupted, for example, for maintenance work. The plug-and-socket connection includes a female element and a male element which contain chambers and ducts opening into the chambers that supply the cooling water. The ducts come into contact with one another when the plug-and-socket connection is in the interconnected position. The chambers are in direct contact with the water tubes, which are provided for supplying the cooling water. The backflow of cooling water occurs via a direct connection between a water tube which supplies the male element with cooling water and another water tube which conveys the cooling water away from the female element.

  • Patent number: 6221195
Abstract: A device for automatically placing fastening bolts on support surfaces. The fastening bolts (1) have a disc plate (5) covered on their bottom side with a dry, hot-melt-type adhesive (6) receivable by heat application. The device consists of an elongated housing (3) having a bolt-catching device and a bolt feeding channel (37), which is connected to a flexible feeding tube (4) on an end projecting out of the housing. The adhesive bolts (1) with disc plate (5) are fed by air pressure into the housing (3) and through the bolt feeding channel (37) to the catching device (56, 57). There is a cylinder (11) with an induction coil (27) at the end of the bolt feeding channel (37). Upwardly from the inductor are means to press the adhesive bolts (1), which are inside the inductor (11), in the assembly position (29) on the supporting surfaces (2).

  • Patent number: 6083558
Abstract: A process for coating a fastening member with a hot melt adhesive. The process includes applying adhesive in a solid form such as powder, pellet or a compressed plate of adhesive onto the surface of the fastening member, pressing the adhesive against the adhesive bearing surface of the fastening member, and then heating the adhesive, while it is subjected to pressure, to a temperature high enough to melt the adhesive. In the preferred embodiment heating is accomplished by induction. The fastening members may be preheated to a temperature in the range of 50.degree.-90.degree. to increase the speed of the process.

  • Patent number: 3937599
Abstract: A pumping system comprising a pumping unit formed by a motor and a pump and adapted to raise a liquid from an underground level to a utilization level, a vaporizable fluid flowing in a closed circuit between a solar evaporator and a condenser, the said motor being disposed in the outgoing branch between the evaporator and the condenser, and a circulator being disposed in the return branch. The motor comprises a motor chamber which is connected by an internal bistable distributor either to the evaporator when said distributor is in an intake state, or to the condenser when said distributor is in an exhaust state, said motor chamber being partly limited by a flexible wall free to move between an intake stroke end position and an exhaust stroke end position, the flexible wall triggering the changes of state of the distributor by reaching its two end positions.
