  • Patent number: 5820930
Abstract: The invention relates to an adhesive composition for plastics based on (meth)acrylic (co)polymer derived from 80 to 100% by weight of methyl methacrylate and from 0 to 20% by weight of at least one monomer containing ethylenic unsaturation which can be copolymerized with the methyl methacrylate. The adhesive composition comprises 1,3-dioxolane combined with formic acid or a mono-, di- or tetraglyme, dissolved (meth)acrylic (co)polymer, and optionally diluent additives. The invention further relates to articles made of (meth)acrylic (co)polymer obtained by casting, extrusion or injection and comprising a bonding joint formed from the said adhesive composition.

  • Patent number: 5714365
Abstract: A protein having sucrose phosphate synthetase (SPS) activity is isolated from plants, preferably maize. The protein has a molecular weight of 110-130 dK and contains at least one peptide selected from Thv Trp Ile Lys, Try Val Val Glu Leu Ala Arg, Ser Met Pro Pro Ile Trp Ala Glu Val Met Arg, Leu Arg Pro Asp Gln Asp Try Leu Met His Ile Ser His Arg and Trp Ser His Asp Gly Ala Arg. Isolation is carried out by obtaining an extract from the plant by grinding, centrifugation and filtration; enriching the extract in SPS protein by precipitation in an appropriate solvent such as polyethylene glycol, centrifugation and solubilization of the precipitate obtained in a buffer solution; subjecting the protein thus obtained to low pressure anion exchange chromatography, chromatography on heparin Sepharose and high pressure anion exchange chromatography; and purifying the active fractions obtained by passage through two high pressure chromatography columns.

  • Patent number: 4903531
Abstract: The gyrometer comprises a cavity filled with a fluid in the form of a body of revolution having an axis coinciding with the axis of a rotation to be measured. An excitation transducer and a measuring transducer are disposed on the wall of the cavity in a same cross section and offset at an angle of 90.degree.. The excitation transducer excites a first acoustic resonance mode of the cavity and the measuring transducer measures a second mode of resonance induced by Coriolis forces when the cavity is subjected to the rotation to be measured. Such a gyrometer, less sensitive to mechanical embodiment inaccuracies, is assembled on, a moving body, for example, in order to measure its speed(s) of rotation.
