  • Publication number: 20100003292
Abstract: The present invention relates to a chitin-glucan copolymer in the form of micrometric particles. The present invention in particular provides a composition containing a chitin-glucan copolymer in the form of micrometric particles for the preparation of cosmetic compositions, and in particular dermatological or dermocosmetic compositions. In particular, the present invention relates to a cosmetic composition for face or body care, such as hydrating, firming or smoothing the skin, and exercising an anti-aging effect, including an anti-wrinkle effect. The purpose of the invention is also to provide a porous material that can for example be used in tissue engineering or cell culture, or that can be used as a material in the cosmetics or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Patent number: 4842805
Abstract: The invention improves detecting that a control cluster has fallen into the reactor of a nuclear fission power station. Variations are monitored firstly in the nuclear power (3) and secondly in at least one parameter (1, 2) external to the reactor and having an influence on reactor control. A cluster is considered as having fallen when a rapid drop (12j) is detected in said power while no variation (12a, 12b, . . . 12h) is simultaneously detected in an external parameter that could have given rise to said power drop.Application to producing electricity.

  • Patent number: 4555382
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of protection of a pressurized-water nuclear reactor, which enables the crisis of boiling and the melting of fuel to be avoided. An emergency shutdown is triggered when a parameter representative of the crisis of boiling or the power released per unit length of the fuel elements exceeds a limiting value. For the determination of these parameters, the most exact representation possible of the distribution of the power in the core of the reactor is employed. This distribution is obtained by measurement of the axial power by ionization chambers, and determination of the radial power by measurement of the positions of the control rods.
