    Abstract: Mechanism for locking and advancing the blade of a cutting instrument.Mechanism distinguished by a rectilinear blade-holding sheath with longitudinal slit having a series of notches on its lower edge, together with a slider to maintain the locking and the advance of the blade, said slider being molded in one piece of synthetic material comprising structures for supporting the blade, a means of elastic return, and a means of locking by a ratchet mechanism in the notches of the shaped blade-carrier.Application: industrial manufacturing of cutting instruments, particularly of the "cutter" type.
