  • Patent number: 7491545
Abstract: A highly selective and sensitive of a carbonic anhydrase-based method for measurement of zinc ion by an excitation ratiometric format based on resonance energy transfer: i.e., where the zinc ion level is transduced as the ratio of fluorescence intensities excited at two different excitation wavelengths, is provided. The method can be used very well in a fluorescence microscopy format. A detection limit of about 10 pM in zinc buffered systems, a ten to one thousand-fold improvement on the Fura indicators (which respond to Ca and Mg as well), and a one hundred thousand-fold improvement on the recently described FuraZin-1 is achieved.

  • Publication number: 20050065294
Abstract: The present invention provides powder compositions comprising from 20 to 90 phr of one or more than one silicone resin having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of at least 40° C., from 10 to 80 phr of one or more than one resin chosen from glycidyl functional acrylic resin, mixtures of aromatic epoxy resin or novolac resin with carboxyl functional acrylic resin carboxyl functional polyester resin or glycidyl functional acrylic resin, and one or more than one filler, such as wollastonite, barium sulfate, mica, talc, alumina, layered silicates like montmorillonite, and mixtures thereof. The one or more than one silicone resin may or may not be flaked and may or may not contain silanol groups. The compositions of the present invention provide single layer or multilayer powder coatings that are free of voids larger than 30 ?m in diameter, and which may meet the UL Class H (180° C.) certification for electrical insulation applications.

  • Publication number: 20040129906
Abstract: The invention provides a cryogenic valve device comprising a valve body in which a cryogenic fluid flows, and a valve member disposed in the duct and connected to a control rod for moving the valve member between a closed position and an open position so as to control the flow rate of the cryogenic fluid. The device further comprises a pneumatic actuator having a chamber containing a piston in connection with the control rod, the chamber being fed with control gas to position the piston in a determined position. The actuator is fixed to the valve body via a chamber interposed between the actuator and the valve body in such a manner as to decouple the actuator thermally from the valve body so as to maintain the temperature of the actuator, and consequently the temperature of the control gas, at a temperature that is intermediate between the temperature of the valve body and ambient temperature.
