Abstract: The present invention relates to film consisting of a blend comprising (i) 70 to 98% by weight of a polymer (Z) chosen from (a) a poly-ethylene (C) obtained by metallocene catalysis, (b) a copolymer (A) of ethylene and of a monomer chosen from vinyl acetate, the vinyl acetate content being between 18 and 40% by weight and an alkyl (meth)acrylate and (c) a blend thereof, (ii) 2 to 30% by weight of high-density polyethylene. The present invention also relates to gloves made of the above films. These gloves are manufactured by thermal welding of the films.

Abstract: The invention relates to a multilayer film, which is useful for making flexible sachets, comprising (i) a barrier film based on a mixture of polyamide and of polyolefin, and (ii), on at least one of its faces, a film based on a copolymer of ethylene and of an unsaturated ester, which can be welded by high frequency.The invention is useful for making flexible sachets of detergents, of bleach or of textile softeners.

Abstract: An ethylene/polyalkyleneglycol(ether) (meth)acrylic ester copolymer and a nonporous breathable film obtained therefrom are provided, the polymer comprising the following monomer units:(i) from 99 to 50% by weight ethylene;(ii) from 1 to 50% by weight of a monomer of formula ICH.sub.2 .dbd.C(R.sub.1)--COO--?C.sub.m H.sub.2m --O!.sub.n --H(I)in which R1 is H or CH.sub.3, m is 2, 3 or 4; n is comprised between 2 and 25; and(iii) from 0 to 20% by weight of a third monomer;said copolymer having a mean molecular weight comprised between 5,000 and 65,000.

Abstract: A coated non-woven material, method of making such material, and disposable absorbent hygiene article are disclosed. The coated non-woven material comprises a base layer made of a non-woven web of fibrous material and at least one layer of a thermoplastic film. The peel strength of the material is equal to or below 98.times.10.sup.-3 kN/m, as measured according to the NFT 76-112 standard, wherein the peeling angle is specified at 180.degree. and the pull speed is specified at 200 mm/mn. In one embodiment, the coated non-woven material is incorporated into a disposable diaper as a liquid-impervious backsheet.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a thermoplastic film including at least one ethylene copolymer, which film is capable of being sealed by a high-frequency current. The film is characterized by its inclusion of a sufficient quantity of at least one N,N'-ethylenebisamide in order to obtain a high-frequency sealing time not exceeding 1 second. The films thus sealed are especially useful for packaging.
