    Abstract: A system for the reference marking of the position of a machine tool relative to the machine. Use is made of a camera, which compares two perpendicular images of a standard having a known position with corresponding images, whcih are then displayed, of the tool. No dismantling of the tool or the tool holder turret is required. A particular application is to turning and numerically controlled machines.
