  • Publication number: 20190234510
Abstract: An epicyclic gear train including a central sun gear, an outer ring gear, and a number of planet gears which are mounted to a planet carrier. The planet carrier includes a centrally disposed torque transfer coupling with a torque transmission point at an axial end thereof. First and second carrier plates extend radially from the torque transfer coupling and are axially spaced apart to support the planet gears therebetween at aligned gear mounting points. The first carrier plate is closer to the torque transfer point than the second carrier plate. The second carrier plate has a stiffness that is greater than that of the first carrier plate.

  • Publication number: 20190234509
Abstract: A planet carrier for an epicyclic gear train of a gas turbine engine gearbox includes a centrally disposed torque transfer coupling, a pair of carrier plates parallel to each to each other and perpendicular to a longitudinal axis, and center arms radially extending radially outward from the torque transfer coupling to the carrier plates. A central bore is concentric with the longitudinal axis and forming a torque transmission point on the planet carrier. The center arms are axially disposed between the axially spaced apart carrier plates and have radially outer ends which terminate at an outer perimeter of the carrier plates. The center arms are thus entirely radially disposed within a radial outer perimeter of the carrier plates.

  • Publication number: 20180163640
Abstract: There is described herein methods and systems for detecting a shaft event in a gas turbine engine comprising a power turbine having a first shaft extending in a first direction and a second shaft extending in a second direction opposite from the first direction. A first speed measurement is obtained at a first location along the first shaft and a second speed measurement is obtained at a second location along the second shaft. A speed ratio is determined between the first speed measurement and the second speed measurement, and is compared to a detection threshold. The shaft event is detected when the speed ratio is beyond the detection threshold.

  • Publication number: 20160232523
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to systems and methods for performing issuer updates of data stored in a mobile device, a remote authentication, a remote payment transaction or enable the configuration of mobile application functions or operations. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method and system for securing an issuer updates processing for mobile payment application. When an update transaction is initiated, the payment application increments an Application Transaction Counter ATC and derives from this ATC a session keys. Sensitive user credential data are encrypted with the computed session keys before transmission to a gateway which is configured to compute the session keys for decryption. The decrypted user credential data are forwarded to a payment application issuer for updates.
