  • Patent number: 4182570
Abstract: A laser generator (1,2,3) is arranged to generate successive pairs of pulses. Two light receivers (10,11) in the vicinity of the laser generator receive echos of the pulses as reflected from a target and a processing circuit (15) calculates the component of wind speed blowing across the laser axis between the laser generator and the target. The device can be combined with laser ranging means and used for artillery control.

  • Patent number: 4003631
Abstract: Device for blocking a laser return pulse reflected by a target lit up by an incident high power pulse. It comprises a semiconductive plate on the path of the incident and reflected pulses and means, for generating charge carriers in this semiconductive plate after the crossing by the incident pulse, in order to make it opaque for the reflected pulse and thus to avoid damaging of the laser pulse generator.

    Assignee: Compagnie Generale d'Electricite
    Inventors: Jean-Pierre Biet, Michel Duchet
  • Patent number: 3989360
Abstract: Optical device comprising two optical elements made of germanium arranged parallel to each other and intended to have a high-power CO.sub.2 laser beam crossing through them; helium at low temperature flows between the two optical elements and a dry nitrogen flux is directed towards at least one of the input and output faces of the device.

    Assignee: Compagnie Generale d'Electricite
    Inventor: Michel Duchet
  • Patent number: 3972009
Abstract: Electron beam generator and the applying of such a generator to a gas laser head comprising, more particularly, an anode and a cathode arranged in an enclosure under low pressure; it comprises, moreover, a device for lighting up the cathode by ultra-violet radiation. The generator can be applied to the ionizing of the gaseous mixture of a gas laser generator.
