  • Patent number: 5495095
Abstract: A combined oven for cooking foodstuffs having a control panel having, on the one hand, a selection device (11) for a heating sequence to be used, of a type of foodstuff and of its weight, and, on the other hand, a control device (8) connected to data processing device (9) which includes a principal computer (10) determining a heating time as a function of the selection device. The data processing device (9), on the one hand, is connected to a display device (12) and, on the other hand, includes a slave computer (13) connected to the principal computer (10) by a bidirectional bus (14) and to which are connected the selection device (11), a storage memory (15) containing information selectable by the selection device (11) and the display device (12) to display the selectable data.

  • Patent number: 5408075
Abstract: Cooking apparatus (1) including a cooking chamber (2) comprising an electric resistance browning device (3) for the foodstuff disposed in the chamber (2) and a device (4) for the generation of microwave energy disposed outside the cooking chamber (2) and adapted to supply the chamber with microwave energy. An electric supply circuit supplies the browning device (3) and/or the device (4) for generation of microwave energy. A selector permits triggering a heating sequence to be performed on a foodstuff. This sequence causing the browning device and/or the device for the generation of microwave energy to kick in. The selector recognizes the nature and weight of the foodstuff, and a control actuates the electrical supply circuit as a function of information from the selector. The control comprises a storage memory receiving the information from the selector, and a microprocessor supplying signals applied to the supply circuit as a function of the information contained in the storage memory.

  • Patent number: 5329086
Abstract: Waveguide adapted to be mounted on the wall 1 of a cooking chamber between the antenna 2 of a magnetron 3 and an opening 5 provided in the wall 1, and comprising a metallic housing of generally tubular shape formed from a cover 7 comprising an upper elongated wall 8 of which a forward region extends above the wall 1 and of which a rear region extends above the magnetron 3, two side walls 9 and 10, two transverse forward 11 and rear 12 walls, and a base 13 comprising a bottom wall 14 traversed by a hole 16 for passage of the antenna 2 and opening opposite the opening 5. The cover 7 is formed from a single piece obtained by stamping and bending a metal sheet. The invention is applicable to microwave ovens for household use.

  • Patent number: 5313035
Abstract: The door of an oven comprises a shell (1) of parallelepipedal shape whose front wall (2) has a large opening having the shape of a parallelogram enclosed by a transparent plate (3). The securement of the transparent plate (3) on the shell (1) is effected by fixation members which are formed by holding tongues (P.sub.1 to P.sub.8) arranged respectively on two opposite sides (9 and 10) of the edge (4) of the opening of the shell, while the transparent plate (3) has two opposite sides (24 and 25) bearing projections (S.sub.1 to S.sub.8) adapted to come into securement, by sliding, respectively beneath the holding tongues (P.sub.1 to P.sub.8). For use in all the doors of household electric ovens.

  • Patent number: 5300745
Abstract: An oven comprises a cooking chamber having a movable door (3) hinged on the forward surface (2) of said oven and provided with a hook (4) comprising a nose (5) and a catch (6). The hook enters an opening (9) in the forward surface to actuate a movable locking element (7). The locking element comprises a wheel (20) pivotally mounted on a plate (14) fixed to the forward inside surface of the oven. This wheel comprises a first surface (A) comprising two abutment lugs (22 and 23), a safety lock constituted by a blocking finger (25) fixed on the second surface (B) of the wheel and controlled by a safety spur (24) that projects through an opening (23') transversely to the first surface (A) and adapted, either to come into abutment with stop boss (26) of the plate, or to permit the rotation of the wheel. Application to all closure devices, particularly to a household microwave oven to prevent operation thereof by e.g. a child, when the door is open.

  • Patent number: 4910370
Abstract: A microwave oven has a circuit for controlling the supply of electricity to a generator of microwave energy, the circuit having a main switch and movable contact, the opening of which is controlled by a timer. The control circuit also comprises a by-pass circuit mounted in parallel between two points having a pre-programmed timing device in series with the interrupting switch. A commutating mechanism controlled by a user is adapted to both move circuit switch to its open position and to move the interrupting switch to a closed position in which a timing device operates to allow the supply of electricity to the microwave generator.
