  • Publication number: 20030155698
Abstract: The disclosure concerns an elastic articulation designed to be linked to a vehicle body suspension arm and capable of operating in torsion and of carrying a substantial part of the body weight, comprising an inner reinforcement 8, an outer reinforcement 9 enclosing the inner reinforcement, and an elastomeric sleeve 7, arranged between the inner and outer reinforcements and whereof the inner and outer peripheral surfaces are linked without any possibility of sliding to said inner and outer reinforcements. The disclosure is further characterized in that the outer reinforcement 9 is configured so as to be able to be fixed directly to the body of a vehicle, without any intermediate rigid support part.

  • Publication number: 20030156889
Abstract: To obtain an elastic joint of which one end is formed by a heading process, with tooth marking in relief, provision of a toothed rivet is provided. These teeth on the rivets are such that they form cavities interspersed with teeth marked on the edge of one end of the joint. It is shown that, by acting in this way, fewer teeth are needed and a correct indexation of the rivet during its successive revolutions is ensured. A lower number of teeth is favorable to a better blockage of the elastic joint against a side plate of a vehicle chassis.

  • Patent number: 5865429
Abstract: Elastic support including at least two coaxial cylindrical sleeves (10, 20) linked together by an elastic material (3) in compression, the compression of the elastic material (3) being obtained by modifying the length of the midline of the cross section of one of said sleeves (10) in the direction which brings radially closer together the midlines of the cross sections of the two adjacent sleeves (10, 20); the sleeve (10) whose midline is modified has prepositioned longitudinal folds (11) uniformly distributed on the periphery.

  • Patent number: 5301414
Abstract: A method for the manufacture of an elastic joint, which includes positioning an external casing member, an internal casing member and an elastomeric compound such that the external casing member surrounds the internal casing member, and such that the elastomeric compound is situated between the exterior surface of the internal casing member and the interior surface of the external casing member, and radially expanding an end portion of the internal casing member to thereby form an annular reinforcement on the end portion of the internal casing member, the step of radially expanding the end portion of the internal casing member being carried out by contacting a die member a plurality of times with the end portion of the internal casing member, the step of contacting the die member a plurality of times with the end portion of the internal casing member being carried out such that the force applied by the die member against the end portion of the internal casing member is exerted along different axes relative to

  • Patent number: 5288059
Abstract: An elastic joint with high filtering capacity and axial gap controlled by incorporated stops includes an elastic ring disposed between internal and external coaxial rigid elements, with an additional elastomer layer disposed at each end of the joint between an axial shoulder of the internal armature casing and a turned in edge of the external ring. Thus, a stop function in an axial direction, which stop function is due to the interaction of the shoulder, the turned in edge, and the elastomer disposed therebetween, produces a filtering rigidity from two to five times lower than the radial rigidity in an equilibrium position, which axial rigidity becomes progressively higher than the radial rigidity beyond the filtering zone when a significant axial force is applied to the joint. Such a joint can be used for motor vehicle suspension arms and in antivibration insulation of mobile or stationary equipment.
