  • Patent number: 4713565
Abstract: A motor, comprising a rotor with eight axes of magnetization being parallel to its axis of rotation and alternately inverted; a stator having two coplanar polor pieces with interleaved pole shoes on either side of the rotor, a sinuous air gap being formed around every pole shoe and every polar piece having four pole shoes spaced apart by an angular gap twice as large as that between the adjacent axes of magnetization of the rotor, and a coil wound around a core to which the different polar pieces are magnetically connected. According to the different means it may comprise, the motor can operate in a step-by-step bipolar mode, in a step-by-step unipolar mode or in a continuous synchronous mode, with an optimum yield.

  • Patent number: 4680494
Abstract: A multiphase motor including a facially magnetized rotor having N/2 pairs of poles per face. The motor also includes a stator for each phase. Each stator has a first and second pair of polar pieces, each pair of polar pieces including internal and external substantially coplanar polar pieces interpositioned one within the other. The internal stator pieces of one phase of the motor are constructed with fractional stator poles, whereas all remaining stator poles are full. Each phase includes a core piece which has a first end connected to the internal polar pieces, and a second end connected to external polar pieces. Each core of each phase has a coil wound thereon. A motor constructed according to the invention prevents loss no magnetic flux from the magnetized rotor. This allows the motor to be highly energy efficient, and compact in size.

  • Patent number: 4634906
Abstract: The motor structure is as follows:the rotor (1) has N magnetization axes parallel to the axis of rotation of the rotor, the adjacent poles having opposite polarities;the stator (2) forms m phases (r, s), m=N/2n, for n being an integer;every phase (r, s) comprises a pair of coplanar polar pieces (3, 4) interpositioned, the one (3) in the other one (4),the polar pieces (3, 4) comprise full poles (p.sub.1 to p.sub.4 and p.sub.6 to p.sub.8) and fractional poles (p.sub.5, p.sub.9);the phases (r, s) are displaced with respect to one another;the polar pieces (3, 4) of every phase (r, s) are magnetically connected with one another by a coiled core (7).

  • Patent number: 4629924
Abstract: A compact, energy efficient motor having a rotor including N/2 pairs of rotor poles located about the periphery of the rotor, the rotor poles having alternating opposite polarities. The rotor is surrounded by a stator including stator poles concentric to the rotor. The motor is a multiphase motor, each phase including two polar pieces, an internal polar piece and an external polar piece, the polar pieces being interpositioned one within the other. One phase of the motor includes a polar piece having fractional stator poles. A motor constructed according to the invention has no loss of magnetic flux, because the magnetic flux generated by the magnetized rotor poles is always closed upon itself. This increases the efficiency of the motor, and allows high power output with compact size.

  • Patent number: 4456866
Abstract: A method for slaving a stepping motor proposes several levels of width of the control pulses U in order to adapt the torque provided by the motor to the load imposed thereon. The method includes measurement of the induced voltage Ui during a time interval T.sub.Ui situated immediately before the end of the control pulse U if the duration of such pulse does not exceed a predetermined duration T.sub.n (FIG. 8) or within a gap T.sub.x opened in the control pulse U if such pulse does exceed said predetermined duration T.sub.n (FIG. 11).The method may be applied to slaving stepping motors wherein the stator exhibits air gaps or saturable zones.
